Can spirits claim a person?

So there’s many things I couldn’t flaired this as. Haunted house, shadow man, idk. I decided to stick to asking the question “can spirits claim a person?” Please, I know this is a long story, but I really need some kind of answers. I’ve been dying to know. If you can give answers, please please lmk. It’s ok to tell me I’m delusional or whatever, I just need someone to tell me something.

About 7 years ago I (now 19) moved out of my childhood home that I lived in for 8 years. Those 8 years were very eventful when it comes to paranormal activity. I was still a child (4-12) and I would experience more than anyone else.

When I got my own room (my parents gave me the master bedroom because it was safer and more in the middle of the house), I would start to refuse sleeping there. I would cry because I could hear walking in the long hallway outside my room and inside it, including the walls and ceiling. Eventually my parents took the room back and I went back to sharing with my sister.

I can’t go into full detail about the things we (mostly me) would hear, see, and experience. But long story short, I would hear voices, see shadows, things would move, I’d hear sounds that nobody else would hear and everyone called me crazy.

One specific incident that I remember happening to me was when I had gotten my own room again after promising my parents I wouldn’t cry at night again. I was 11 now. I said I’d be a big girl and brave things.

So one morning, my phone was charging on my dresser across from my bed when my alarm rang to get up from school. For some reason the loud sound breaking through the silence of the house would scare the shit out of me. I even put one of my favorite songs as my alarm but it still scared me.

Then without warning, I hear my phone fall onto the floor. It had only been ringing for a few seconds and it wasn’t near the edge of the dresser, so this scared me. I had a light up charger at the time and I remember at that moment it casted a shadow onto the wall. It was the side profile of a man with a cowboy looking hat on. I just stared for a long time, scared and shaking. Then i gathered the courage and flicked the light switch on.

I took a moment to gather myself then I went to grab my phone off the ground. I kneeled next to it and the second my hand made contact with my phone, I felt a gust of wind blow my hair slightly and I lifted off the ground slightly. I know this might sound crazy, I get it. But it’s still something that has stuck with me.

A few months later, we moved. The landlord had asked for the house back.

That’s when I started having nightmares about my house. So many different types of nightmares that I probably can’t even go fully into. Some of them are about seeing shadow apparitions, one time it caught fire, one time it was the house inside our local cemetery, one time I had a nightmare that I met “the guy that plays all the characters in my dreams” and he said he was tired of it. That whole dream took place in that area. At the end of that dream we were in my room from my current house and he had a sinister smile and asked me “do you know what’s gonna happen?” I begged him to tell me and he continued by mumbling what I guess was the future but I couldn’t hear him because for some reason I kept begging him loudly, crying for him to tell me. It’s one of those things that happens in dreams sometimes.

I also tend to have dreams where I go back to that house. To this day, I will have dreams and like I said, it’s been 7 years. For some reason it feels like everything that happened in that house never happened until I pass by it. But sometimes I forget I don’t live there anymore. Like I’ll be out and then think that I’m going home afterwards, but I think that’s home before realizing I don’t live there anymore and I haven’t since early 2019.

Sometime in 2024 I talked to the landlord’s grandson. We went to school together and we’ve known each other since preschool. I randomly asked him “can I ask you a question about the house?” And he randomly asked “Let me guess. Is this anything to do with the shadow figure man in the hallway?” We had never talked about that house and definitely not its paranormal activity. So this was random. He said his mom saw it near the restroom that was me and my sister’s on the day his grandparents moved into that house and they had a little moving in celebration. So I thought this was crazy.

Apparently there was in old man that lived in that house before us. My dad said he had seen that man when he still lived there. He also often wore a hat. They say maybe he died there and chances are that if he did, he died in the master bedroom where I stayed.

Since moving out, the truth with my family started coming out. My parents, who are less likely to feed any paranormal conspiracies, especially my mom, have both said that they knew that place was haunted. That they felt it. My mom especially said that place terrified her. She felt watched.

And despite everything, I know I’d still go back if given the chance.

So is this some kind of attachment?

Help figure out my dad’s skin issue

Hi! Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures of my dad’s skin and he isn’t home at the moment, but it’s always been my plan to try and help him.

He’s 53 years old and he says he was born with this condition. His skin has light pink splotches all over it and the skin there feels dry/scaly. The rashes also spread. He says that when it’s really cold, they burn. He’s lived his whole life with this and they’ve never been able to help him out. Apparently when he was younger, they tried “treatments” that only hurt him more.

He also says that when I was born, I had that same exact thing but that doctors put some kind of ointment on me and it went away.

Could this be eczema? I’ve googled the symptoms and they don’t completely match up with his. He says his rashes are only rarely itchy. Also it says that it’s rare to be born with it, but I don’t know. I’m not sure if it’s a skin condition that runs in his family. He hasn’t said (or at least I don’t remember). All I know about skin conditions in his family is that one of his cousins has vitiligo, but I doubt that’s what this is because symptoms don’t completely align either.

Does anyone have any thoughts?
