My old buddies visited

Since it’s been nesting season, I have only been getting solo crows doing provisioning behavior, grab and go. These two are my first pair of crows that started visiting and I named them Hermes and Iris. I can always tell the difference because Iris loves dog kibble and she’s digging through my peanut puzzle that has peanuts on top and kibble on the bottom to discourage the starlings from eating all of the kibble. Hermes Loves, whatever is on the feeder and this morning I made them scrambled eggs with the shell and offered a hard-boiled egg on the side since that’s what I normally do. So now I’m dancing a happy dance that my old Buddies came to have breakfast.

Fish crows

Thanks to the Merlin app. I learned that I have fish crows. We live near a creek and a man-made lake so I guess they’ve been coming more inland in recent years. The thing is I don’t think I’ve ever had one visit my crow feeder. I can hear them they have a very distinctive sound. Are they less inclined to come to a feeding platform? Do they want something different?

Today my 2023 A4 Allroad started beeping. No messages or lights and it sounds like it’s coming from the steering wheel which was recently replaced.
It even beeps when the car is fully shut down
Anyone else run into this? It’s making me nuts and yes I’m contacting the dealership tomorrow morning.

There are dog kibble in the tall orange container which is really a dog toy and I use it to keep the starlings out of the food. I love how the crow figure figures out how to right it after it gets knocked over.

Breakfast for the crows
This morning, there’s an offering of peanuts in the shell unsalted, cashews a big favorite, half a hard boiled egg, mealworms in the little purple cup, fish based dog kibble by Open Farm and of course, a large bowl of water
