Is it ever appropriate to muzzle train a 4th month old puppy? Schnauzer four months old. I’m tried of always being treated like a human chew toy and my puppy preferring to chew on me even if I offer her a toy. Sometimes me and my mom think she gets kind of aggressive/hyper because she’s trying to tell her she needs something when all she’s doing inviting. It’s hard to address the issue when we are constantly getting attacked and she’s not listening at all. I told my mom sometimes I think maybe if we could get her muzzle trained maybe after we get the muzzle on her comfortably and she’s used to it we can start addressing it’s like are you hungry? Are you thirsty? You need to go outside? Do you wanna play? Instead of getting constantly bitten, throwing her in her kennel and then taking her out and then having the same thing happen over and over and then me getting frustrated and shutting down and me being like OK mom you just have to deal with her.😭 I don’t want to use it as a punishment tool. I want to use it as kind of a training/learning/teaching tool it’s like maybe if she’s not constantly biting us we can maybe learn some of her cues and signals better.
