Alternatives to test sore feet and ankles

I have been a vivobarefoot wearer for a couple of years - they are all I wear now (bar one pair of Lems which I wear very occasionally).

I have been having some feet ankle and leg pain and want to know if the shoes have anything to do with it. I also have rheumatoid arthritis so pain is quite normal for me but I am beginning to wonder if different shoes would be better. The problem is I can't bear any narrow shoes and I really love the feeling of vivo. Particularly Forest ESC and Magna ESC (I think that's what the second pair are called - esc sole, knitted ankle).

What kind of shoes shall I try as an alternative to vivo to see if a little more support helps at all? My preference is 'hiking' type shoes/boots and I normally walk on trails/grass etc. Rather than pavements.

I got rid of my pre-barefoot shoes - keens and meindl wide fit - as both felt too narrow now.

Thanks

Strains under 20%

I have a 15% cap (no idea why) but there's nothing under 15% in stock. I had been hoping for Apricot Cream and Cheese as it sounds like what I need - something that will ease anxiety while being clear headed and energised enough to function/work. I tend to only use small quantities.

I am contemplating asking if I can go to 20% cap so I am able to order something - is there anything between 15 and 20 that seems to have gentle effects like ACC? To what extent is ACCs effect about the balance with CBD?

I don't know if i should just wait ... annoyed I have a lower cap - not because I want stronger effects but because it sounds like different strains do different things independently of THC%. Of course at the moment the issue is nothing being available at all! I could go to another pharmacy but theres nothing to say they will have stock either by the time they get my prescription.

How consistent are MC effects with oil vs flower?

I'm new, and finding the effects of Somai 10:10 to be quite inconsistent. Is this likely a quality of the oil, or of someone adjusting to use, or is this a feature of MC more generally?

Kit and storage

So, there's a lot to learn ...

I haven't yet had flower, but I gather I will need the following - advice on the following would be welcome:

a vape (thinking xmax v4 pro), with dosing capsules.

a grinder (? I assume you have to grind it to go in vape? Is an £8ish one okay?),

boveda sachets (62% size 4?)

Glass jars (would a 250ml kilner hold 10-20g? Or would 2 x 100ml black jars that come with some cases hold 10-20g?)

Something to store it all in safely/smell free (stash bro cases that come with 2 100ml jars - I assume this would also hold grinder and vape? And a kilner jar?)

Three questions

(okay, four questions ...)

  1. If you have MC for anxiety, and only take it once a day (ie evenings), do you notice reduced anxiety at other times or only when medicated? I.e. does it just generally make you more calm, or just offer periods of respite?
  2. For pain relief, do people generally need to have stronger medication, or take much more, than that taken for anxiety?
  3. Are there some strains that are "stronger" but have similar or reduced psychoactive effect (i.e. leaving a person relatively clear-headed).
  4. What are the main differences between carts and flowers? I'm assuming both involve vaping, but different sorts of vapes - 1 which has cartridges (filled with oil or resin?) And the other for taking dry herb. Are there differences in the effect or time of onset (ie with oil it takes 45+ minutes to see how you feel) or how long it lasts? Is vaping very smelly?

Starting with oil - put in fridge?

My first prescription arrived today - 10:10 oil starting at 0.1, increasing each day up to 0.5.

It seems hard to just draw up 0.1 but I think I've done it and put under my tongue.

I dont understand 'keep it there for 2 minutes' - theres nothing to keep, or swallow at the end of those two minutes?

I guess I am unlikely to notice anything in any case.

Anyway, there were no instructions to keep in fridge but it does say keep under 25 degrees. House is around 29 degrees at the moment - will it be okay in the fridge or better just in a cool bag with ice block?

Questions about initial consultation (CB1) - anxiety and pain

Initial consultation with CB1 next week and I have so many questions. The issue I put as main one was anxiety and depression - it's very longstanding and treatment resistant. I've tried nearly all antidepressants to no effect. The anxiety and mood is making work challenging so I'm desperate to ease it so I don't lose my job. So it's the most urgent issue. However I also have rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia which cause chronic pain and occasional flare-ups. I take dihydrocodeine and ibuprofen daily to manage this, but still have lingering pain and occasionally quite bad.

I read someone else say they were only offered CBD oil, no THC. I have tried CBD for pain to no effect a few years ago - but could get this without going the MC route. So I am worried I will just be offered that.

I smoked recreationally a couple of decades ago.

Will I be prescribed a dosage/type that addresses mental health and pain? Will being on codeine rule out MC? Could MC replace codeine/ibuprofen?

Do they prescribe multiple forms? What is 'oil'? How much does it tend to cost each month?

Do the amounts prescribed make you feel particularly 'high' or relatively normal-ish? People seem to work and drive and function normally while taking it ...

Im aware i hsve asked too many questions. I'd love any simple explanations as to what to expect and possible outcomes. I'm particularly worried that anxiety will mean i won't be offered THC.

My main shoes are trackers AT, but i wear forest ESC boots in winter/mud and prefer them. Are the magna ESC any cooler/lighter to wear in summer? I need the feeling of ankle boots so don't want trainers.
