HyperBackup destination drive full catch-22

My HyperBackup task to a local USB drive fails and then the task goes into suspended because the target USB drive is full. I've searched and tried to figure out what to do. I've pruned versions, but the way HyperBackup works is the backup tasks runs first and then prunes. So its a catch-22. The task can't run in order to get the the pruning step. Aside from erasing the destination drive and starting all over, how can I proceed?

As title says the HyperBackup integrity check fails but only when I check the box "Check if backup data can be restored". If I dont check the box, then the integrity check is successful.

I did test restoring actual data and it works, so I'm not sure what the integrity check failure means.

Can anyone explain this?
