While the Grey Knights and Aeldari silence the gun battery of the munitorum district, the space marines and sisters of battle were dropped into the spaceport, catching the PDF by total surprise. Despite the rapid response teams and flyers of the defenders, their poor training and discipline was no match for the coalition’s zeal…
One minute was all the coalition had to silence the gun battery… Any longer and their barrels would lock onto the ships in orbit and pierce them with lances. The liberation task force decided to do a direct drop into the munitorum district and take the guns in a desperate gamble. With the firestorm attacks clearing the way for the drop, an allied force of Grey Knights, Sisters of the Valorous Heart, and Aeldari of Iyanden landed on top of the shaken PDF and routed the defenders with ease and minimal casualties.
After a coup overthrew the sub-sector governor, the coalition fled to the shrine world of Saint’s Sorrow to request an audience with the Sisters of Battle garrisoned on planet. The Adepta Sororitas agreed on the condition the coalition proved their faith in the Emperor and sparred against them in the training arena that was once a bustling city, now reduced to ruin after xenos invaded nearly a century ago. Although the coalition failed to uproot the more defensive sisters, they nevertheless proved themselves worthy of their services through displays of zeal and fervor. Soon, they will march on Aethelgard to liberate the capital planet and rescue the previous governor.
Our group is doing a coop PvE campaign that involves more operations war planning and some role play. Based on the skill checks their factions used to gather intelligence on next week’s battle, they discovered they would be assaulting a chemical storage facility that has been converted to a short ranged rocket battery. Although the defenders are a weak token force, the defenses they’ve set up present a major complication for the crusade.
