is it worth it anymore?
this might be far fetched, but I wanted to discuss it with people who are actually pursuing or preparing for this field. don't you guys think NEET or medical is heavily getting overcrowded in India? 10 years back it was engineering and now it's medical.
10 years ago, people used to say "engg karlo, fir toh job mil jayega and life set" and now people say that with medical "beta no fear of placement, job security". i read posts from seniors who are doing pg, i listen from people who are doing SS and who are actually earning in lakhs per week that medical field is getting overcrowded and it's burning them up.
don't get me wrong, i love medicine. i love biology and the concept of living beings but is it really worth investigating our prime 10 years behind a field and not exploring anything else? i know it sounds very kiddish but yea.
who knows 10 saal baad har ghar doctor miljaye like abhi har ghar ek engineer mil jayega.
EDIT: been reading all of your comments and i agree to one fact that, india is actually overcrowded and under developed. tell me you choose medicine just because you loved bio and thought dr banunga toh naam kamaunga. that is the only thing. 10 years ago, koi doctor banne ka soch bhi nhi rakhte the as it was "rich people job" and now sab koi aa jaa rha hai field mei. until and unless you have done SS and some foreign degree nobody gives a dogshit. why am i saying this? cause when i go to a doctor for my family member we always check the degrees and stuffs and in the end cuss the ones with low degrees "areh ussne toh sirf pg kiya hai"
moreover US, germany, Japan inn sab jaga mei medicine k dusre fields mei bhi scope hai. biotech, bioengg ka no scope in india, gov toh inn sab mei invest hi nhi karte where india can be a hub. this is my idea. i can be wrong too.
