Comparison to others parents

Hello, I’m writing to you because I have 5-month-old twins, and I can’t help but compare them to the other babies around us.

We have several young children around us, from 5 to 1 year. As far as I can remember, with one exception, the others have almost never had tantrums or major outbursts. In fact, when we see them, it’s often our babies who end up screaming, crying (too many noise/people), and only wanting to nap in our arms. Except that I feel like I’m doing something wrong when I see these other very calm children, who don’t throw tantrums—or hardly ever—and go down for a nap peacefully. I know they aren’t the same age, but even from the start they were easygoing kids. I’m afraid it’s going to be hell with our twins when they get older…

Especially since the parents of one of them have already told us, when talking about other kids who throw tantrums, that it’s just a matter of parenting, that theirs is calm because they stay calm too, etc… So I feel guilty and like I’m doing something wrong, or that in the future, if they throw tantrums, it’ll be our fault and they will judge us.

I know I should not care of other’s opinions, but any advice on how to deal with this guilt and slight jealousy that things are going easy for other parents ? 😅
