I recently listened to a podcast about philosopher Abu Hamid al Ghazali. He taught that there's no cause and effect within the world. You're observing sequence, not cause and effect. God is the actual cause. God orders things to look like cause and effect but this isn't what is actually happening.

The absence of cause and effect within the world is entirely new to me. My view has been that everything that happens was caused by something within the world. If something catches on fire, that thing a) had stored energy and b) something--a match, a lightning strike, heat from somewhere, a chemical reaction-- caused the ignition.

So what about in your would? How does cause and effect work? For those with God as the immediate cause, how much do you know about Islam and al Ghazali?

What kind of severe weather occurs in your world and how do the people of the world handle the weather. We're talking: high winds, cold, heat, flooding, blizzards, storm surges, or maybe magical kittens falling from the sky. For those with space habitats there's solar flares or maybe malfunctioning HVAC.

How does robbery occur in your world, and what is done about it. What recourse does the victim have. Are robbers arrested and prosecuted? What is the punishment?

When using a MovinkPad, how do I open my Sketchbook Pro files saved as psd?
They're on Onedrive. I've tried accessing them through the Sketchbook app on the pad , and I've tried downloading them first. Neither has worked. I also need to know how to access my Photoshop suite from Movink.

I purchased a Movink pad so that I can move around while working with Sketchbook pro. I need to do so to check life references, such as when using a mirror. I've been saving my files as .psd because I need Photoshop for some functions, such as liquify or moving and scaling multiple layers.

My new pad is a MovinkPad pro 14. My PC is a Dell running Windows 11.

Alcohol and vinegar(acetic acid) are normally produced by fermenting sugar. Depending on the yeast, either alcohol or vinegar result. Both are important for cleaning and food preservation, as well as industrial processes. Alcohol can be used as fuel and as antifreeze.

Yes, and there's drinking. That goes for both alcohol and vinegar.

How is the sugar obtained in your world? From apples? grapes? cane? barley? maple sap?

Is malting necessary?

What about distillation?

Are other acids(citric acid, malic acid) used in place of vinegar?

What kind of ships(airships and spaceships included) and boats are used in your world? How are they propelled? How far and fast do they go? What is the size and makeup of their complement or crew.

Fire is one of the most dangerous and useful phenomena faced by humans. It's particularly dangerous in the enclosed spaces of ships. It also results in terrifying wildfires. How do the people of your world protect themselves from fire? Do they have firefighters? How are firefighters funded and equipped?

What kind of fruits and vegetables are available in your world? Where would they be purchased or aquired? How are they grown and transported to market? Any interesting recipies?

Iron is a marvelous material. Iron oxide gives bricks and red ochre their color. Iron oxide also colors yellow ochre. It can even be blue. Cast iron is traditional for cooking. It heats evenly.

Alloy the iron with carbon, and you've got steel, the stuff of swords, chainmail, train rails, tall buildings, and towers for electrical lines.

So how is iron & steel produced in your world and how is it used?

Animal protein makes up a major component of what most people eat. Yet, animals feel pain and may very well be sentient. How does your fictional culture reconcile the rights of animals with the human desire/need for protein? Do they practice human slaughter and how?

What kind of animal meat is taboo, and what animal meat taboo in our culture is acceptable in your fictional cultures?

What language or languages are used in your world? Are they spoken? I'd love to know about the phenology, grammar, or anything else interesting. Are they written? What kind of writing system is in use?
