I'm a Canadian living in Canada and I have 15 years marketing experience. I spent the last 11 months experimenting with AI (full time) and creating my own marketing tools and AI harnesses (agentic systems that I coded using AI).

Right now, AI doing marketing produces sloppy work because:

• AI is lazy, to produce higher quality work, you have to force it to follow certain tasks in sequence.
• Training data is polluted with outdated marketing blog spam. The foundational concepts of marketing that the AI is confident about are completely wrong.
• Knowledge cutoff date for all models is old so AI will make the wrong assumptions about your audience.
• Unlike coding, you can't test marketing strategy, creative, or management.

2. I created a market research system to ground AI in the most recent market dynamics for any niche. I also created a mechanism that verifies that the work is done through the market research insights (because sometimes AI will ignore the research and work from training data).
3. Marketing concepts are well defined and corrected. I've inserted my own personal touch and philosophy from what I've learned through experience.
4. To make sure that the AI work meets expectations, I built and tested rubrics, criteria, and unique verification mechanisms.
5. I manually review and approve final work.
