Ethernet crashes my router when launching games (CS2, Valorant)
Hey guys, I’m dealing with a really weird issue and I’m running out of ideas.
Whenever I use an ethernet cable on my PC and launch games like Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, or even Minecraft, my entire router resets and internet drops for the whole house. It happens almost instantly when the game starts.
What’s strange is that everything works perfectly on Wi-Fi. The issue only happens when I’m using ethernet.
I’ve already tried a lot of things:
- bought a brand new router → same issue
- tried different LAN ports → no change
- tried different ethernet cables → no change
- installed a new PCIe Intel network card (I210-T1) → same issue
- disabled the onboard Realtek LAN → no change
- reinstalled and updated network drivers
- installed chipset + Intel ME drivers
- disabled all advanced adapter settings (EEE, offloads, etc.)
- turned off Windows Firewall → no change
- tested another PC on the same network → works perfectly fine
My PC specs:
- Motherboard: ASUS TUF B560-PLUS WIFI
- CPU: Intel i3-10105F
- RAM: 16 GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER
- OS: Windows 11 (was already installed when I bought the PC)
- Network card: Intel I210-T1
At this point I’m thinking about doing a clean Windows reinstall, but I’m not sure if that will actually fix it.
Has anyone seen something like this before? Could it be a Windows/network issue, or something wrong with the motherboard/PCIe?
Any help would be really appreciated 🙏
