My daughter and I will be cruising together and we have different last names. It’s messy because I have my ex-husband’s last name still (not her father, I did not marry her father). I kept the name because of my son, to avoid situations like this when he was a kid. Anyway, her birth certificate only lists my maiden name, not my legal name. No, she does not have a passport yet. This was last minute decision and already paid.

Here are the documents I have:

My passport (Smith)

My marriage license showing name change (Jones to Smith)

Her birth certificate listing my maiden name (Jones)

A notarized letter from her father giving consent for her to travel with me (recommended from cruise line as they have the same last name).

Should this be sufficient?
