First belt bike I've had. I took the back wheel off recently n had a shop install a new tire n then I put the wheel back on the bike. Didn't move any of the tensioners in or out. Belt seemed to have 6mm of travel which is what I saw called for online (6-8mm). Got about 700miles in and the belt just snapped one day. Wondering if I did something wrong here.

17k miles on the bike and the original belt from 2013 (bike is 2014 model). I noticed they went to a different part number for the belt in 2014. Were the previous belts just bad or did I screw up here? I wanna make sure the new $340 belt is taken care of so it doesn't happen again like this. TIA
