First carmeet I’ve been to with the Bolt and got invited to park with the bikes✌️

It’s a nice feeling to get waved over rather than stared down 😅

KOSO TNT tachometer acting weird

OK, so for context on this
It’s a 2014 bolt just standard model
about sometime last year, I replaced my stock tachometer/speedometer with a nice KOSO one
And it has worked great up until recently
It’s been having a few small issues

One of which being that it seems to be resetting my settings quite often
Like the tire size percentage
Turning on or off things like the gears displayed or ABS
And a few times it even reset my illumination color

No part of this I believe was due to the really old battery I had in it despite the fact that I do keep it on a battery tender

I have a new battery in there now however I seem to still have the same issue with a few things

The primary weird thing I’ve been running is it has saved and displays the correct tire size percentage
63%
But it is not showing the correct speed , it’s showing me going a lot faster than I actually am

I’m not really sure where to go with this

And for small context, the reset button on this bike has never worked. The previous owner dropped it when shipping it in a trailer and the reset button has just never worked.
I am unsure if this might have something to do with it or if it would assist in anyway

But any advice would be greatly appreciated

Does an AM air filter fit your knees?

I am not a tall guy but my knees rest on my stock air filter. It messes with the positioning of my foot on the peg and rear brake. I have been beginning to think about if I can reposition my pegs and brake or if I want to replace the filter and get a tune. What is the go to on a budget that doesn’t mess with knees position? Thank you brothers!

Bought a 2015 bolt with 260 miles, all stock. Doesn't ride as smooth as my 2003 vstar 1100 but it is nimble. I will probably change the exhaust, filter, and get a tune so it rides like it should have from the factory.

triple tree question

Hello guys.
I recently bought a yamaha xvs950cr 60y aniversary.
i am looking to install a drag bar/tracker bar to it, as it came with clip on handlebars, not a full bar.
My question is, what is the support on top of the middle screw? and what is the little cable with 2 holes for?

thank you

Passenger seat

I recently purchased a new 2025 bolt r-spec, after previously having a 2005 v-star 1100. On my 1100, since it came used, it had a good size passenger seat for my wife to ride with me. I did purchase a seat for her as well as a sissy bar to go on my bolt, but unfortunately (she is a wider-hipped woman) the back seat is very uncomfortable for her. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good "wide" passenger seat?

Thanks in advance!

Second question: if so do you know how to remove the baffle on it ? 😅

Second attempt. What do you guys think I should do?

Alright gents I need some input. For some context, I bough this Bolt back in March of 24, and I’ve grown a bit attached . It’s the first bike that I’ve really ridden consistently. I spent that whole summer riding daily and loving every second of it. The Bolt may not be the best at what it does, but it was MY bike and I loved it.

That being said, I got a bit over confident and high sided into a ditch. Luckily I walked away mostly unscathed, the bike not so much. Here’s my predicament. I’m without a bike at the moment and losing my mind because of it. I need something for the summer/fall, so here’s my question; should I try to fix it up, or buy a new bike?

I’ve thought about trying to do a bobber build that’s (relatively) cheap. Almost everything that’s damaged on the bike can be directly replaced. As far as I can tell the frame is straight, the motor is still fine, and it would probably ride just fine with a bit of work. I just started a new job that pays significantly less than what I was doing before, so I’m on a fairly tight budget, but the peace of mind is more than worth it. I have a lot more time to bring my attention towards projects like this. I’ve (roughly) estimated the cost to get it riding to be about $1500-$2000. I just want to know what you all think is the best way to go.

I didn’t claim insurance since I figured it would be more trouble than it’s worth and I only have liability. I got cocky and wrecked completely of my own doing, and I think I’ve learned my lesson. (Feel free to roast me, I’m a fairly new rider and I guess I had to learn the hard way.) No one else was involved, no property damages or anything like that.

So I guess, tldr, should I fix it up and have a custom bobber build? Or just try to sell it for what little it’s worth as is and buy a new bike?

Thoughts?

Manual says to put regular 87. But, I took a look at the sticker on the swingarm & it says 91 RON MIN.

H4 LED Recommendation

Looking for a drop in led replacement for the headlight. I got a $30 pair and the beam pattern is horrible, supposed to replicate 1:1 for the halogen bulb, but it's wrong. Also the one I bought doesn't have the little reflector in the bulb itself to direct the high (low?) beam, so having the high beam on does essentially nothing. Has anyone found a bulb that works well? I don't want to spend more than $100 on it, because I can get a JW speaker knockoff less than that.

Pros and cons.

So after riding my dad’s Yamaha 500 he decided to slow down and sell his custom bike after 6yrs. Puts me in a position of buying my first but technically third bike if you count dirt bikes.

I like the look of the bolt but wondering what the pros and cons are to them?

Battery replacement advice

After 3 years of use my bolt battery is dying. It is a generic brand but lasted longer than the Yuaza that costed $250. I need an advice on a new battery brand costing less than $100, can someone gives the name of good battery brand?

I am checking a Goodyear battery GTZ12S and 14S listed in Amazon, but have no idea if a Goodyear motorcycle battery is any reliable.

My Bolt

Didn't think I've posted good pics since exhaust/intake update. Beautiful weather so cleaned her up for today's ride.
