Weird stuck update, that kind of "stops" the computer
I've had this weird and annoying issue with my Lenovo ThinkCentre for a while, where it takes a very, very long time to apply Windows Updates.
It can sit for hours, in restarting applying the updates, but eventually gets there so I've schedule the updates to run at night.
Now though, I have some update "stuck" as every time I restart the computer it says it's applying updates and after 10-15 minutes I get an error stating that something went wrong and it's restoring but not to worry...
Then the computer starts and I can login, however, the really weird thing is that there's no update to be found that's being added, and the computer works normally for a while, and then goes into some "stop mode"-ish.
Any programs I have started prior to this "stop mode" runs normally, but trying to start some new program is not happening, it just kind of ignores the start, no warning, error or anything, just not starting the program.
Taskmanager looks normal, disk space a plenty, CPU and memory normal, so no strain on the computer.
I've done the normal "tricks" with stopping Windows update (e.g. `net stop wuauserv`), deleting all from "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution" and then restart and then the message about the "something didn't go as planned" is not shown, but if I restart a few hours later it's back again and Windows Update doesn't show any update being installed.
I ran a "repair version", which seemed to have solved the issue, but as soon as I got the first new update (Security update) it was back to the same problem again:
Trying to run the Update troubleshooter it only opens a browser window and tells me to type in a question, totally useless, but through Windows+R I can run the "old" troubleshooter, but it can't detect any issues...
Trying to Reset the PC and keep my files , I've not tried yet, and would like to avoid as I have a lot of things installed and setup...
Any clues?
