Hey guys,

I just got a brand new Honda HR-V (European version) and I want to put a front and rear dashcam in it. I’ve been searching all over YouTube, but I literally can't find any install videos for this specific model/generation, so I'm hoping someone here can help.

I know it would be better to run the cables behind the airbags so they don't turn into a tripwire if they ever deploy. But honestly, I’m pretty terrified of pulling off the A-pillar covers and weather seals on a brand new car. I've never done anything like this before.

A few things I'm worried about:

• Do I need to disconnect the battery so the airbag doesn't blow up in my face while I'm messing with the A-pillar? And if I disconnect it, is the car going to throw a bunch of error codes or lock me out of the infotainment when I plug it back in?
• How easy is it to pop off that A-pillar without snapping the clips?
• For the rear camera: do I have to dodge the side curtain airbags all the way to the back if I run the wire across the headliner? Or is it better/easier to run it along the floor under the door sills?

Any advice, tips, or just letting me know how fragile the clips are would be awesome. I really just don't want to break my new car on. Thanks!
