Yes the title is inflammatory but it comes from a place of love. I leased a Civic ST Hybrid hatch last year and it whips ass so much. But my wife hates how low it sits in a city of full-size SUV’s, year-round potholes, and lake effect snowfall. And I don’t blame her. She drives a CRV ST Hybrid which is arguably the best CUV or at worst #2 behind the RAV4. So why is the HRV so mid? Lift a Civic and give it the same hybrid platform with AWD and it’s a slam dunk for me.

I know there are two camps, “wait until the car tells you”, and “every 30k on the nose”, with most people agreeing that it is worth it to change the transmission fluid every 30-60k or so if you stand any chance of the Honda longevity we all want.

What are everyone’s thoughts on time/fluid age and not just miles? I take mostly short trips to work and a handful of yearly road trips. I’ll drive 5-10k miles a year but I need a car with space for my job.

As a result, three year old my 24’ awd only has 20k miles. I change the oil every 6 months regardless of mileage and did the rear dif at 15k. I don’t live in the mountains but I do encounter some hills. I’m considering having it done at the next oil change this month, would like to hear everyone’s opinion on how many years you’d let it go if you don’t hit the milage marker.

Got an OTD offer of $33,400 in New England before rebates. Not sure if I should try to find a better deal or pull the trigger on it. Has anyone found a better offer?

My 2021 came with a 4 cylinder engine, which makes no sense as the vehicle is too heavy to carry that sort of engine. It kills the reliability that I have to basically gun the car to get up to 45 mph.

I’m starting to have electrical issues and ever since I got it I’ve had multiple check engine lights that don’t make any sense to the people who have checked them for me. I’m very good on things like oil changes and I constantly let the car warm up even though I don’t really have to. I’ve only had the car since January and I’m thinking about trading it in.

The acceleration is way too slow and it can’t keep its speed going up a hill. I constantly floor it without even realizing it.

I have to park under a giant maple next to the hose so in fall all the leaves fall down and get into the drains in the front, and in spring its all the seeds.

I learned recently thats what cases water to get into a car so im looking to prevent that

I just leased this car and when the AC is on I feel pulsating vibrations throughout my driver seat and it can be felt on the center console as well. When the AC is off there’s no vibrations. It does it whether it’s in drive or park as long as the AC is on and as I turn up the AC the vibrations intensify. Is this normal with HRV’s ? Or should I get it looked at? I’m super annoyed because the vibration feeling is really bothersome. I had a 2024 accord and it was soooo quiet/no vibrations.

I want to purchase a Honda HR-V Advance Style (around €36k). It would be my first car, but I’d like to get your opinion on whether this is a good decision.

Maybe there are some owners of this car here who can tell me more based on their experience after long-term use.

I’d like to know if it’s good as a family car and what kind of fuel consumption it gets—I'm mainly interested in long trips, highway driving, and road trips. I'm curious about how much it consumes (how many full tanks it takes on a road trip).

From what I’ve seen, city fuel economy is extraordinary.

I'd love to know what you like and what you don't like about the car.

At how many kilometers do you do the maintenance/service on it, and what do you recommend?

If you know of any other cars with a similar trim level in this €30k–€36k price range, that would help me enormously.

After a full stop, my HRV would sometimes hesitate a bit. I asked Honda dealer to diagnose and they save a CVT transmission service was needed. After completing the service they said a magnet stuck to the pan which meant there were metal shavings/bits sitting at bottom. Said the $300 CVT service should be performed every 30,000 not unlike an oil change. Don't change oil, could lose engine. Don't change transmission fluid, could lose transmission. Told her 1st anyone ever told me that. Think I had only done once at 30,000.

Should I keep and drive until it goes? Repairs quoted at $7,000-$9,000.

Trade value at $6,000-$8,000.

is anyone else having the issue when your foot is on the brake at a stop light or stop sign the RPMs drop and the car jerks? i have a 2026 EXL with less than 5 thousand miles on it

Bought a new hrv. Do yall recommend getting the extended warranty from Honda care? Or do yall think it’s not necessary?
