Differential Fluid Change at 7800 miles ? Why?

Bought a ‘26 HR-V Sport AWD in Feb and it already is saying a differential fluid change is needed at 7800 miles. It’s just me that drives it and has been from Ohio to NC back in May but mainly commutes 25 miles a day.

Reading the manual, this fluid change is 15,000-30,000 depending on terrain (which is mostly flat) also I still have the factory oil and it’s at 30% life. My dealership won’t do free oil changes unless it’s at 15% but I’m still taking it in because to me the oil needs changed and it’s been at 30% for a month now.

Disc/Hub Rust

Anybody else discs look like this? Not talking about the rust on the disc itself but mainly the hub. I've only had the car for almost a year and feel like this is a lot of rust for how new the car is and seems to be hard to remove without proper cleaning.

Any product that I could use to scrub the rust off without repainting them? Thanks so much in advance!

Normal vs Ecom

I have a 2025 awd sport. Out of frustration with poor mpg, I decided to bail on ecom mode and just keep in normal mode to get better acceleration living with the fact that the mpg was never going to be that great and trying to squeeze out better mpg wasnt worth the effort. Since doing this, my mpg has gone up from 22.7 to 23.8. This makes no sense whatsoever since im driving the exact same commute. This tells me the mpg calculations on these modes is not reliable.

Help with hardwiring dash cam (2027 HRV)

Hi everyone, what fuses should I use here? Tried installing my hardwire kit today, but had some trouble when checking fuses because all of them showed 12vdc (ignition off) when I used my multimeter.

Would appreciate any help. Thank you!

B1-service 2023 Honda Hrv

What’s the average price for a b1 service at a dealership and what does it cover? Is it better to take it in to a dealer or can I take to an independent place?. My first Honda so I’m not sure.

Also my sticker says I have 2,000 more miles before service but my car indicates I need the service done now which one’s more accurate?

Car sunroof permanently close

Hello everyone, namaste!
Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸
I’m having an issue with my car’s sunroof. Whenever it rains, water leaks into the passenger side floor.
The repair shop quoted me $5,000+, and honestly, I don’t want to spend that much on this car.
I have a few questions:
Can I file an insurance claim for this? If insurance covers it, how much could my insurance premium increase?
Is it possible to permanently seal the sunroof around the edges to stop the leak?
If anyone has experience with this or any suggestions, I’d really appreciate your advice. Thank you!

First Honda and first brand new car!

Spent 6.5 hours at the dealer today 😬 Was brutal but I’m happy with the outcome. Came from a 2017 Hyundai Tucson with issues that were incompatible with having a newborn in a few weeks.

Barely had a chance to play with the settings and everything yet - open to suggestions/hacks and advice on maintaining the appearance!

Honda HR-V Hybrid - Test Drive and impressions

Been hunting for months for the next car that could be "right" for me, and I believe the HR-V Hybrid e:HEV ('21-'24) could potentially be it. It is more "claustrophobically sporty" inside than I had imagined, but that's not a deal-breaker for me.

Having read the reviews, I had dreaded the "awful" and "extremely loud" engine noise that supposedly kicks in when you floor the pedal. To my surprise, I didn't find it to be that annoying.
Of course, coming from a full EV, I can't say the noise is welcome, but it doesn't bother me as much as expected. Also, despite complaints about the rear suspension or the brakes, I had no issues; the quality of the ride—including how it deals with bumps and potholes—is quite well-managed.

BUT (there's always at least one, isn't there?):

  1. Road Noise: My impression was that the tires produce more road noise than most cars I've driven. I'm not sure whether it's the stock tires or poor cabin isolation. I later drove my own car on the same roads (a much cheaper 2021 MG ZS EV) and didn't hear nearly as much road noise as I did in the HR-V.
  2. The Seats: I actually liked the back support, but I found the seats to be quite firm. It reminds me of sportier cars, which is a ride type I personally dislike.

Owners, I would love your input on those two points! Other than that, I have to say all other elements met my expectations, and some even exceeded them.

2017 EXL - alarm going off randomly

Alarm has been going off 1-2 times in a 24/hour period. Even when I leave the car unlocked. Already had the battery and battery housing replaced as well as both key fob batteries. Occasionally the smart entry won’t work well but not all the time.

Upon researching I’m worried it’s the smart entry control module which people are saying is over $1k to fix. But could also be a latch issue somewhere? What are others experiences with this? I’ve already been to an autoshop twice over this and hoping to do more research before shelling out at the Honda dealership.

2017 HRV sunroof issue?

I have a 2017 Hrv and my sunroof wont close, as soon as it hits that little plastic guard it opens back up, I have to manually hold the plastic down and let go of it just before it fully closes.

Anyone have this issue before? If so, was it an easy fix? I'm pretty busy and didn't want to bring it to a shop for something so minor, so I figured i'd ask here if there was any possible solutions.

Sanity Check.

2024 HR-Sport. This car is awful, right? It's not just me? Do I have a half lemon? Or a full one?

I got this car brand new. I was excited. I'm new to Honda coming from Ford ('94 Mustang, '13 Fiesta, '14 Focus). So this was supposed to be a major upgrade. About a month in I realized I didn't like it, but since then I've gotten to hate it.

Issues: A/C is currently making noise but doesn't blow out any air.

Transmission was "dirty" at 31,000 miles. Had to have it replaced.

Driver's seat does not stay raised when using the lever to raise it. The seat slowly comes down on its own. It's so slight you cant even tell its happening. But then you realize that you're a lot lower than you were when you started.

The shift knob does not lock on drive. Once while driving I reached for a cup [BEHIND THE SHIFT KNOB] and I pushed it to Neutral. I had to quickly move it back. Is this normal?

Sometimes the doors won't lock when I walk away from the car because (I think) it believes there's something or someone in the backseat. The sensor on the display tells me there's something in the back seat and to check. The seats are empty!

The car won't unlock when I place my hand on the handle and

the little ridges. I often have to dig for my keys out of my bag to unlock it with the fob.

Android Auto AND CarPlay are awful. It freezes both my iPhone and my Samsung (s26 ultra. Its new!) Whatever autoplay is doing is making my phones overheat and make the apps crash on both phones.

The car will NOT accelerate. Not even in Sport Mode.

Are these legitimate issues? Do any of you have these same problems?

2019 HR-V AC makes whirring sound?

I just wanted to know if anyone has heard this sound before and what it might be and if its something that's gonna be a potential problem or not. Summer heat waves are making its rounds down here in CT and I'd hate for the AC to crap out on me as summer begins
