(Low Mileage) CVT fluid intervals

I know there are two camps, “wait until the car tells you”, and “every 30k on the nose”, with most people agreeing that it is worth it to change the transmission fluid every 30-60k or so if you stand any chance of the Honda longevity we all want.

What are everyone’s thoughts on time/fluid age and not just miles? I take mostly short trips to work and a handful of yearly road trips. I’ll drive 5-10k miles a year but I need a car with space for my job.

As a result, three year old my 24’ awd only has 20k miles. I change the oil every 6 months regardless of mileage and did the rear dif at 15k. I don’t live in the mountains but I do encounter some hills. I’m considering having it done at the next oil change this month, would like to hear everyone’s opinion on how many years you’d let it go if you don’t hit the milage marker.

First tumble (on vacay and a rental bike)-had to happen sometime

I bought a basic rad about a year ago that I’ve put about 1200 miles on commuting to work on mostly trails. I live Less than 3 miles away and it’s been amazing.

My wife and I decided to rent these on our honeymoon and it was going great until my tire lipped off a side ride and I either overcorrected or the back tire popped onto the gravel on the side of the road, and I lost traction and dumped the bike. Was able to untangle with the bike and just scrape up my elbow with a bit of road rash. Couple bruises and a tetanus shot later. It wasn’t a crazy grade separation to flag in my mind, but it was enough to throw my balance off. It was fully my mistake, but I am not used to riding on side roads in Maine and those thin bicycle tires don’t have a lot of leeway compared to my rad (basically moto tires). I was going under 10 and glanced down to look at her maps. Still had a blast riding to lighthouses in Acadia national park.

Excited to get back riding on trails at home, lessons learned. Side note, the Bosch mid drives are doooope, even capped at 20. I would not have realized how much I enjoy E bikes had I not had the 1,000-1,500 price entry. I know mid Drive has more maintenance, but I’m considering for the next one. It was great.

DIY Hail Cover

After a $8,500 hail claim 6 months after buying my 24 sport, I am paranoid. We had some crazy winds yesterday and this stayed in place with the sealskin (overpriced) cover on for the last 5 days. The pads keep the blankets from sliding when you pull the cover off and vice versa. Not perfect but butter than nothing. The padding is that thick foam. that’s in home gyms or children’s playrooms .

Just paid it off, not trying to go through that again.

Edit: this isn’t a total solution for or replacement for proper garage. It’s meant to be harm reduction for golf ball and under sized hail.

Found this on marketplace an im so pumped to ride it when the rain lets up. I’ve had a mini s since launch and a backfire gt2 that’s on its last leg, so I’m retiring the ladder.

Hoping battery still has a few years left as my mini s with 450 miles seems to be in good health.

Story goes that dad bought it for his kid who lost interest when he got a car and it sat. Charged up fine, we’ll see what kind of range I get.

I have a spare set of belts, but thinking of ordering a couple more sets and maybe even a spare motor to keep both of them up and running should something break.
