Advice please: do I need to lower the crib more?

Hi gents,

Young one (9 months, ~25 lbs) has recently learned to pull himself to his feet along things like the playpen, and just today transferred that knowledge to his crib.

The crib has 3 depths, and we are already at the middle one. My wife has trouble getting him in and out as it is. Do I need to lower it to the bottom? I hate having him so far down (and the strain on our backs) but I don’t want him to pitch out headfirst.

I really appreciate this sub, everyone here is great and I’ve had a lot of fun and insight browsing. Thanks dads!
