I would think turning it all the way to the right on the freezer side would be the coldest but other things online said the snowflake. The manual is useless because it says there's numbers but mine has no numbers.
I know I and many others I have seen online had issues getting the wired vlan working for the asus routers.
What finally work for me:
1.) Go to VLAN > Profile Name your vlan number. Example: 58. Click the plus and hit save.
2.) Go to the regular Vlan tab, and make sure all ports are set to default.
REBOOT THE ROUTER.
3.) Go to the guest network pro. You should now see the wired icon there with the vlan you specified. You should be able to then toggle DHCP Server on and hit apply. ( I swear this did not show up until recently, make sure firmware is up to date)
You can set up the wireless Vlans here in guest network pro. Set your settings and go. Make sure to enable the dhcp server in the options. Set AP to isolated.
Set DNS to a specific dns IP of your choice. Setting the default does not always work!
REBOOT THE ROUTER
4.) You can then manually assign an IP address in guest network pro there to keep the switch on a static ip to make sure it's easier to manage. Turn off dhcp on switch.
5.) Log into your vlan capable switch and use the 802.1Q Advanced VLAN configuration set port 1 for example to untagged. [ U ] (assuming that port one is going to port 1 onto managed switch to port 1 on router)
Leave the rest of the ports untagged.
6.) Go to PVID Config menu and change port 2 (assuming its the pc you want to vlan that it is connected to) to 58.
Reboot both and enjoy, should see the device under the client list under guest network pro.
If you have a fast internet connection, better than 500mbps down turn off port based qos on switch, and router, and leave IGMP snooping on.
I wish google would just make a 3rd gen. Great product imo and I cannot find anything else like it.
Mine are old, I really want to get a more modern one that supports wpa3 and allows you to connect to 5ghz wifi.
Not really finding any good options. Anyone know of any?
I think the most crucial for me is network stuff above, and be able to be silenced from my phone. Google home app integration would be a plus.
