Anyone have a recommendation for blacking out the Trek logo on the downtube?

Hey, all

I’ve seen some decals on Etsy and eBay but it’s hard to get a response from these “popup” quick buck shops lol.

My Fuel EX is black, and I’d love to make the silver trek brand on the downtube also be black. Would look really clean! IMO lol.

Any suggestions / tips? Thank you! I’ll link a photo of the current setup and what I am going for.

May 2026 - Quality of Life community update

Firstly, thank you to all who had a chance to weigh in on our recent poll. Your voices matter. The feedback received directly contributed to updates we are making to the community. We encourage feedback and strive to make this community enjoyable for all.

Today, we are rolling out several quality of life updates that we believe will make r/Garmin a better community for all.

Sunday Score

The Sunday Score is officially here. To address the influx of posts made, oftentimes just a screenshot of a wellness metric or score with no added context, we are rolling out the Sunday Score. We understand that there are many reasons to share photos of your metrics or scores. Whether that be a humble brag about increasing your VO2 max, finally hitting that mythical 100 sleep score, or trying to understand why your HRV graph looks like a rollercoaster at Cedar Point. Sadly, more often than not, the majority of these posts have little context added. This creates an influx of screenshots of scores and metrics that oftentimes do not lead to meaningful conversation or insight into how you arrived at that metric or score.

The Sunday Score will allow users to post any metric, graph, or score on Sunday. Paired with a new format requirement the updated structure will undoubtedly lead to meaningful conversation amongst the community. This will provide invaluable insight that can help the poster and the community as a whole. While we understand that Sundays may get a bit rowdy, as we know users will be eager to share their metric or score, we believe this will significantly reduce clutter on the feed, leading to more opportunities for other posts to get attention and drive conversation.

There are also exceptions, such as instances where a user is having a suspected technical issue, in which case you can post the image of your score or metric Monday through Saturday. See Rules 4 and 5 for additional details. Users can still make general, text based, post about any wellness metric - score. This is only specific to photos sharing.

Auto Mod Overhaul

Auto Mod received a complete overhaul. The goal of this overhaul was to address shortcomings that were currently in place that may have been overly aggressive with removals, and to add enhancements that will lead to a more fluid experience for users.
Some of the enhancements include:

* Spam reduction
* Karma farmer detection
* AI slop control
* Community rule enforcement update
* Better accuracy

Our goal is to keep a seamless experience for our community by allowing the voices leading the conversation to be real users, not random bots or AI slop. This is not necessarily something you will engage with directly, but it will help keep things tidy within the community.

Oh.. and there is just one more thing. We have introduced a system that should help the “Does this watch look too big / small” post. Redirecting the poster to a resource that will help them identify the correct size watch for them. Further contributing to the goal of a better quality feed within the community.

Additional Note:
Also, because this inevitably comes up anytime changes are made, this is not about censoring discussion or limiting conversation. Users are still absolutely free to talk about these products, share experiences, ask questions, troubleshoot issues, and engage with the community.

The goal of these updates is simply to reduce feed clutter and improve overall post quality so that meaningful discussions, questions, and helpful content are easier for everyone to find and engage with.

Thanks again for making this community what it is.. exceptional!

To the random Redditor I met up with who saw the worst crash of my life.

About five years ago, at Paris Mountain, I went down.. hard.

I was far too inexperienced to hit a black diamond but foolishly (and this is on me, not them) I wanted to keep up and hang with the random Redditor I met up with. I didn’t have any friends in the area to ride with, and they offered to show me the trails. He was super cool from what I remember!

Anyway.. we were at the very top and had JUST begun the decent. I went OTB and ended up breaking my foot. I also, again this is on me, didn’t hydrate or eat enough that day. I was in a rush and I was pumped to ride. I had JUST picked up a new bike (Stumpy) and it was already getting late.. so I wanted to rush to the trail to break it in. So on top of my injury.. I was nauseous, lightheaded and could hardly sit up as a result of the situation.

A few hikers happened to be close and saw the crash and rushed to me, as well as the rider who had heard and turned back as well. We were in a bad location. I recall a hiker saying that if I needed an ambulance the only option was life flight. Which.. obviously no lol.

What sucked is I was mangled, my bike was mangled.. and nobody knew the best plan forward. I’m also 220 Lbs, XL frame. Not the easiest to move. Luckily.. another hiker, who was built like the Incredible Hulk, happened to also show up. He helped carry me and another hiker grabbed my bike and we were able to hike back up to the top. The Redditor I linked up with was also supper supportive and reassuring me to stay positive. Offering to help anyway he could.

They helped load up my bike and I was able to drive myself to the hospital. I found out I had a concussion, broke my foot, and a few other minor things. I’m thankful for their help that day. Was a scary moment but hey.. I own it. I should’ve known better.

I never saw that random Redditor again. I met you on here all those years ago. So, if you happen to stumble upon this, my bad on being a total “buzz kill” on the trail that day. Thank you for offering to show a random dude the ropes! It’s not always easy to make friends these days. Also.. thank you for helping me back to the top after I went down. Kindness like that is why I never stopped riding. This community is awesome.. even on my worst day! Haha.

To anyone who is newer to riding or less experienced.. let this serve as a reminder to take your time. Even on new bike day the trails will be there tomorrow. Also, there is no shame in letting others know your current comfort levels on the trails.

Knock Block adapter that doesn’t suck?

Just curious if anyone has a link to one. I’ve looked high and low and can only seem to find Trek’s. It’s horrible lol. I’ve tightened it to 2nm.. which was useless. Cranked it down.. still easily pushes past where it should. I don’t mind keeping the system.. but I want to run my stem and would like an adapter that doesn’t suck.

Thanks

Poll: Introduce rule to prohibit posts of wellness scores / metrics

EDIT: Please check out the stickied comment to see current ideas / prospected plans. The original post was also updated to add additional clarity.

*******

Hello, all.

We have received a significant amount of request asking to limit / remove the influx of posts from users sharing their health / wellness scores.

We beta tested a rule that was setup to help reduce timeline clutter.

Specifically, this rule would eliminate the influx of post from individuals posting health / wellness scores. Such as photos of a users V02 Max, sleep score, HRV graph body battery, stress graph etc. As many of the post have a score : graph with little to no context. This results in a feed full of images of metrics with no substance. Note, this does not apply to traditional post.

Examples include:

- “So close! *insert sleep score number 99/100*”

- “Is this a good V02 Max? / Finally achieved my goal V02 Max”

- “a typical day *insert stress graph*”

- “Here we go again *Insert HRV graph*”

The goal:

We want a community that is easy to navigate, encourages conversation, and inspires one another to #BeBetterThanYesterday. We understand that can be challenging if the timeline is flooded.

While the auto enforce did seem to help I have since disabled it.

Is this something we, as a community, would like to see strictly enforced? Please cast your vote!

**Note** the rule is currently up, in our list of rules, and we welcome any and all feedback on the best way to implement it should a revision of how it’s written be needed. We would love to hear from you.

The outcome of the poll will decide if the rule is or is not made permanent.

Cheers.
