I’m applying for on campus jobs, but it’s tough. I don’t have a car and my course load is pretty heavy, so I’d like to work on campus. Where are some good places to apply? Will some jobs for work study students open up for non work study students if they aren’t filled? Thanks!

Im a first year female grad student and I didn’t really bond with my class. They just kept to themselves but I did make one friend. I really miss the community I got living in my previous state and I just want to hang out with people that are part of my culture. I checked the International house but got redirected to LASO and they havent posted any meetings.

Any suggestions? (I would also prefer to meet other girls)

If you're riding a scooter or bike on campus, please be careful. This morning around 8AM I was hit by a scooter going around 15mph on ped walk. They came up from behind and ran against the side of me.

Luckily it looks like I just have a bruised wrist but the individual on the scooter didn't even stop to see if I was ok.

Please go around campus at a speed that keeps both you and pedestrians safe.

Will I get ticketed if I park at the church lot if I have a Commuter intermediate permit? How strict is UTK parking patrol?

I was super excited to come to this school and make a ton of new friends, and hang out with a lot of new people, I rushed because I thought it would be a great way to meet a lot of people. Even after all of this, I feel like I’m failing at making friends, I can’t even convince people to eat with me or hang out. I haven’t heard of a single party happening let alone being invited to one. Is there something wrong with me? Everyone is always talking about how fun college is, but I feel so alone and let down. Is there a way to fix this?

Whats the best places to take a dump preferably with an underused bathroom or where a single stall/one person restroom

The HSS bathrooms have no AC and are the busiest so def bottom 3 on campus

One of my classes uses YuJa Verity but I don’t really feel comfortable installing it on my computer because it seems really invasive. Can it be used on the library computers? Supposedly it won’t work in a virtual machine either.

If my first class is at 11:30 realistically when do I need to get to campus?

I moved in last night to the Davy, and there was just non stop road noise from outside all night, and I barely got any sleep. The revving of engines in the middle of the night is especially annoying, but even cars just passing by is pretty loud inside. I was wondering if this is an issue in other apartments near the intersection as well and how others deal with it. I tried using earplugs but that didn't help at all.

I’ve been struggling to find parking near my classes. There’s only like three commuter remote lots. I didn’t know if anyone had advice for parking or if the remote parking just sucks in general.

My god I got to campus an hour and a half early for my first class this morning and spent damn near the entire time driving around campus looking for a spot. I'm not even exaggerating. Every single goddamn lot was completely full. Literally the only reason I could even park was because I eventually just bit the bullet and just went to a paid spot.

Does CC parking clear up even a little bit after the first week or two? I expected the first day back to be bad, but holy shit. If it doesn't then I'll be refunding my pass if I can because this is insane.

I am currently waiting for my scholarships and loan to apply to my statement which will fully cover my payment but I got a email saying I need to pay in full or my classes will be dropped. What do I do?

Does anyone know of a community college/university that offers a transfer equivalent to EF 151. I timed out on my tries (took it 3 times) and this is the only thing holding back my degree. I tried to look at Pelli but the classes are full.
