Larger Crease, Visible Metal Plates Underneath Screen? (Screen Replacement)
I sent my Z Flip 7 in for a screen replacement. It had one green pixel, but of course, Samsung said I would have to pay $300 for a repair. So I did.
I got the phone back, and it's VERY hard to see in the photo. But underneath the screen protector I can visibly see two squares, like for the top part of the screen and the bottom part of the screen, one square each. And then I see marks for where the crease is. If I put my finger right on the crease and start to open or close the phone I also hear a small popping sound, very minor but it's there.
When I ask Gemini about it, it says I should tell Samsung support this:
"The OLED panel is clearly delaminating from the internal support structure—you can visibly see the outlines of the metal plates when it's off, and it makes an audible popping sound every time the phone is closed. For a $300 factory-grade repair, the screen needs to be fully seated and silent. I need this corrected under the repair warranty."
What do you think? Is it normal to see the square panels (only in certain lighting) after a screen replacement? Is it normal to feel what SEEMS like a larger crease after a screen replacement? I paid $300 for this, but I know Samsung support can be very bad. So just trying to figure out how to handle it.
