Weird Stanley's Cup Coincidence

S10E14 Stanley's Cup is one of the most divisive South Park episodes. It's a rare example of Matt and Trey taking dark humor too far. If it wasn't for the elephant in the room, it would be a really funny episode that's a classic example of putting Stan in a story he's completely disinterested in, reminiscent of episodes like Towelie and Asspen, with the latter being one of my favorite episodes in the series. In Stanley's Cup, Stan is forced to coach a Pee-Wee Hockey Team. However, the episode goes too far with its dark humor because Stan has to lead the team to victory or else a child on the team named Nelson will die of cancer. Instead of being a motivational story, though, where Stan wins and Nelson lives at the end, Stan's team loses and Nelson dies of cancer. The problem is that nobody really finds it funny seeing a depressed little kid die of cancer.

However, I have a bizarre personal connection to this episode. First of all, the episode released on November 14, 2006, exactly 10 days before the day I was born on November 24, 2006. Also, my last name is Nelson, the same as the first name of the kid who died in the episode. Finally, I also had a tumor at a young age (12 years old). Thankfully, though, mine was not cancer.
