My current Shark Navigator has been 3 yrs old, with weekly whole house use. It is starting to develop the very high pitched motor noise, like that from jet engines. Other brands/models I have had were worse, getting such noise within 1-2 yrs. It is very uncomfortable. Wonder if any Dyson model is less prone to such issue. My general impression is full power cabled ones with slower but larger motors tend to be better. Looking at Dyson Ball Animal 3 on my list next. But I have never had a Dyson. It is a good choice, or any Dyson models on the recommendation list, particularly regarding to such high pitched noise?
