Thoughts on this community

Hey everyone, I'd like to hear people's experiences on whether or not they feel the Psych community on Reddit is toxic, or healthy for the most part.

I'm sure offline fans are a different story, as people aren't wary of bots, AI etc but it seems like most communities on Reddit are super toxic, and nit pick and criticize excessively.

if Psych is like that I'm out. I'd love to know if it's actually worth staying here though. Hopefully this reaches the right people.

A friend or dad

Psych makes me wish I had a dad like Henry, or a friend like Gus. They might poke fun at each other but the relationships they have are raw, comical, and honest.

Henry's a great dad. His flashbacks show how much time he took to educate Shawn, even if it was a bit too catered to his own career and likes. He wasn't perfect, but he's beautifully accountable and does his best. It's so sweet that he's always looking out for his son, even though he's an adult. He's a true gem.

Then you have Gus who's a RIDER. Despite any dangers he might face being Shawn's friend, he still supports Shawn's endeavors and holds it down. I love them SO MUCH. It's bittersweet for me to say this since I've never experienced a true best friend or father figure.

This show holds a special place in my heart; and anyone that has a father like Henry, or a true friend should count themselves as blessed.. there aren't many good parents or people who can be true friends out here nowadays : /

Season 3 Episode 8 Gus walks into a bank

Probably annoying the masses with my commentary on the rewatch, but I can't help it.

Juliet going to drop off Gus's shoes while dolled up for a date is lowkey diabolical considering she could've just left them at the precinct.. like come on now.

She knew how Shawn feels about her. Even if he did say "Go out with him" it's insensitive to be all in his face about it even after the fact. Then again Spencer's immature for acting like she owed him an explanation when it comes to her dating life. The lick back with the whole sewer incident was pretty clever, despite it being petty. Juliet's type is mainly older men which is interesting, and then you have Shawn. The best looking out of all her male interests, but isn't mature enough. Correction, she doesn't give him a chance to show him he can also be mature. Spencer can be very silly, but steps up to the plate if and when he needs it to.

I LOVE Lassiter in this episode. He's getting a kick out of the drama and him catching the bad guy in the vents and saying freeze was hilarious. I love seeing him taking a chance and going against protocol as well when it matters. Henry popping up to give Spencer a tip and show support and care was a perfect addition to the episode. It fit like puzzle pieces.

This is 1 of the best episodes in the show since you see the characters growth and or reactions to tough situations. I wish they made more shows like Psych :( also.. I wish I had a best friend like Gus or Spencer. That I love you moment and how much they care for reach other is so real.

Season 2 episode 14 Dislodged

This episode is perfect. Henry avoiding Spencer, then later on admitting to choosing his family over a club.

Lassiter going to Spencer and Gus for help, which happens sooner than I expected in the show.

Lassiters smile in the car while with Spencer when they were on the phone with Juliet was also unexpected.

This is the 1 episode that really solidifies them being a family, and not just co workers. I loved it all. Especially Spencer grabbing his and his dads pictures to keep at the end

Season 2 Episode 11

Casually rewatching the show, and this episode was entertaining. I love the fact that Spencer getting 100 score on the test humbles O'Hara and Lassiter so hard. Chief Vicks and Buzz's reactions are golden during that moment. Goes to show how Spencer could've went down the detective / police route but chose his own path and name for himself.

Also Spencer and Gus friendship, and how much it means to them is strong in this one. They don't make shows like Psych anymore. It's definitely 1 of the best shows to have been created.
