I heard that he is pretty much guaranteed to be in because he is a Japanese Derby winner from Shadai Farm after a long while, ever since Eishin Flash. He is also currently earning the most prize money among Shadai Farm’s horses. But I’m not sure. Achievements-wise, I think Decile is clearly better than some horses at Shadai currently, but I’m aware that’s not the only thing that matters. Shadai also already has Efforia as Epi’s successor.

Shadai definitely preserves some slots for Croix and Lovcen, and I heard they may want to have at least one Duramente’s successor (Durezza, Masquerade Ball, Energico). And they also probably plan to recruit some overseas G1 horses too in the future.

Decile is consistently strong in G1 races from 3 to 5 years old (at least up to this point), can run well enough in different tracks and conditions, won an overseas G1 race (against Calandagan), never has a severe injury (except for that one time in Satsuki Sho that made him scratch the race, but he quickly recovered and won Japanese Derby anyway). His temperament is probably fine, not exactly obedient though. He is pretty much different from the usual graded-race winners of Epi. So I want him to be Epi's main successor along with Efforia. He is also my favorite active horse. A horse doesn’t need to be in SSS to produce good progeny, but they will have some disadvantages compared to horses at SSS regardless, so ofc I want him to be in the most prestigious stud and receive the best possible treatment. If he is clearly bad as a sire after 3-4 years in Shadai, they can kick him out and I won’t complain.

Meisho Tabaru is being considered for Arima Kinen. And he will continue to race next year.
