So I'm about to tackle the water pump and thermostat on my 328, and this pipe from the engine block to the water pump is one of the only parts of the cooling system I haven't replaced yet. Not many people seem to bother with it, probably because of the expense and difficulty of replacing it.

Nonetheless I'd really rather have this crossed off my list if possible. I've heard some things about the exhaust manifold needing to come out, or that the A/C compressor needs to be moved a bit. Not sure. Was wondering if anyone's done this job before and just how difficult it is.
