Those who lost a partner young - what advice do you have?

I met a sailor on tinder who was sailing around the world. I joined him and we sailed the South Pacific until I started having panic attacks and had to go home. He found some contract work in Europe and asked me to join him so we then backpacked Europe for a while until we broke up - he had some abusive traits that I found out after he died came directly from his father.

He drowned while freediving last year in October and I have been completely devastated by his death.

What advice do those of you who lost a partner young have for honouring someone’s memory and finding joy? And what should I expect as I age? I’ve started writing our story out because I know I will soon start to forget it.
