Appeal for witnesses/dashcam footage
On 9 May 2026 at around 12:03pm , I was crossing the pedestrian crossing near the Esso station at 399 Lor 2 Toa Payoh with my son in his stroller while the green man was on.
A car suddenly sped through the crossing and hit my son’s stroller hard enough to damage the wheel before driving off without stopping.
Thankfully my son was not seriously injured, but this could have ended very differently. The driver did not stop to check on us or provide any assistance.
The vehicle involved appeared to be a white BYD sedan/hatchback that looked visually similar to a Toyota Prius shape or model. Unfortunately, the incident happened very quickly and I was unable to capture the full license plate number before the driver fled the scene.
I am appealing to anyone who:
- witnessed the incident
- was driving nearby with dashcam footage
- may have seen the vehicle or captured the license plate
