So, I am getting into hot waxing my chains. I switched 4 bikes at home to wax, I just keep 2 on oil for rainny days. I swap between 4 chains per bike. Waxpot, chains stripped with diesel, boiling soapy water an acetone. In general, performance is convincing.

However, once the chain starts squeacking and I go through a boiling water rinse and a rewax, the chain is never again 100% clean. Is this normal and I should just accept minimal grit, or am I doing something wrong?
