Fossil ID? San Antonio, Tx

From my research they appear to be from Mesozoic (Cretaceous more specifically) aged limestone. Most were also found in a massive clay deposit. Numbers have also been added in blue for the purpose of photo identification. Any and all suggestions are helpful!

New Micronation: Sancta Corpus Tejana

https://preview.redd.it/pudhfi7sqmdh1.png?width=3000&format=png&auto=webp&s=5ebe96a0ca4fe213184513eadf05f52bd89de37d

Howdy!

I am Austin Imons, President of the Sancta Corpus Tejana. It is with great excitement and honor to officially introduce our nation the internet and to the micronation community at large.

The Sancta Corpus Tejana (SCT) was founded in 2023 and is a democratic theocracy. It is located in the southern United States and is made up of one province and a-soon-to-be territory: Ismenia and Eman, respectively. Our capital city, Ehaus, is located in the middle of Ismenia.

Our official language is English as it keeps official government business, documents, etc. accessible to the vast majority

Our national animal is the lion as both a symbol of our national pride, our strength, and our faith in the one true God. The state animal for the province of Ismenia is the white-tail deer, as they roam the vast majority of the capital province.

Citizenship in the SCT can be broken down into three categories:

  1. Natural Citizens - People born withing SCT territories or to SCT citizens.
  2. Faithful Citizens - People who apply for citizenship, affirm respect for the Catholic heritage of the SCT while not needing citizens to be Catholic themselves, and agree to uphold the nations civic virtues.
  3. Honorary Citizens - Granted by the President for service, diplomacy, or cultural contribution.

Applications for Tejana citizenship are open. If you wish to apply, please follow this format and leave your application in the comments:

  1. Name
  2. Country of residence
  3. Reason for applying
  4. Religious affiliation
  5. Agreement to respect the SCT, its Catholic heritage, and its people
  6. Take the civic oath: "I pledge to uphold the dignity of all persons, the liberty of the people, and the moral heritage of Sancta Corpus Tejana.”

Applications will be approved or denied within 48 hours of submission.

We're also open to establishing friendships, diplomatic relations, and alliances with other micronations and organizations. If you'd like to connect, feel free to DM me and we shall discuss it further.

Thank you for your time and have a wonderful rest of your week.

- President Austin Imons

  2. Translate it using your phonotactics, grammar, and cultural flavor.

Introducing Bad Interpreters!

Welcome to Bad Interpreters!

This is the chaotic conlang game where meaning is optional, phonetics are misleading, and everyone is absolutely confident in their terrible linguistic instincts.

Each week, you’ll receive one IPA prompt — a word, phrase, or short sentence.

Your job is to translate it into your conlang using nothing but the sounds.
No meaning. No context. No hints. Just vibes, instinct, and questionable interpretive choices.

Think of it like a game of telephone, except everyone starts wrong on purpose.

How to Play

  1. Get the weekly IPA prompt.

  2. Interpret the sounds. Decide what the prompt means in your conlang. There are no wrong answers, only beautifully misguided ones.

  3. Translate it! Write the equivalent in your conlang using your phonotactics, grammar, morphology, cultural flavor, and semantic chaos.

  4. Share your translation with your gloss, meaning, and a short explanation for your reasoning! A simple why and how should do.

What Next?

With each new week, we'll highlight translations that were the funniest, most cursed, and most plausible. And with the highlights will come a new prompt to start the madness all over again!

Tips And Tricks

  • Don’t overthink it — instinctual chaos is the point.
  • Beginners are absolutely welcome.
  • You don’t need a full conlang; improvise everything.
  • Feel free to add cultural notes, idioms, or grammar quirks.
  • The more absurd your justification, the better!
    • Examples:
      • "I heard [fəˈlɛto] and assumed it meant ‘the king’s goat’ because it sounded regal."
      • “My conlang doesn’t allow /f/, so I changed it to /h/ and decided it meant ‘to scream politely’.”
      • “I thought the stress pattern looked accusative, so I made it a threat.”
