I had a customer throw a fit and accuse me of drink tampering, because when she came to the DT and asked if we accept Bitcoin, I responded, ‘Not at all.’
I actually kinda thought she was joking at first, so I said it in a friendly southern way, but somehow she took it as me having an attitude or something?? Because she responds ‘That’s not what it says on the website,’ which is weird, since we certainly don’t accept it directly.
So when she gets to the window she asks, ‘Why did you say it like that?’
So I explain that we just don’t take other types of payments like gift cards for the most part, except Visa ones. Which I thought would kinda end the conversation since she just turns away and starts loading her app, and I take the next car in the meantime, but then she starts literally yelling at me asking for sleeves for her drinks that haven’t even come out yet, while I’m still talking to someone else, and getting angry that I apparently didn’t respond immediately.
So at this point I know she’s trying to just pick a fight, so I ask another shift to finish off her transaction, and go help with oven, only for her to accuse me of going to sabotage her drinks? The other shift had to explain I wasn’t anywhere near making drinks, only for the woman to insist on having them remade, and then changed the flavor on us, (Not just a mistake as several people heard what she said) But I guess to just waste all our time.
But it’s also like, why the heck would I risk my job to mess with your drinks?? All because I said we don’t accept Bitcoin??
Customers are just weird. So weird.
