Reno 14 pro - Ads in system apps

Man I've been using this mobile for more than 8 months and not a single ad but this morning I started to notice some ads in my system apps such as files and phone manager? Whyy? And how do I turn off those ads? I've also attached some screenshots.

Posting this on behalf of my friend, he has a Reno 14, Indian region.

He did get colour OS 16 update when it was a launched for Reno 14 but decided in not to update it back then but now when he checks back to update it now. The color os 16 isn't showing up but a newer version of color os 15 is showing up.

Is he supposed to update to the latest color os 15 and then color os 16??
