Find x9 Pro Camera/Performance Improvements via Updates?

I think this question might interest a lot of people.

Have the camera and performance of the Find X9 Pro been further improved through software updates?

I’ve seen a lot of posts about updates where Oppo claims to have improved the camera and other features via software updates, and it would be interesting to know whether the camera or system performance has actually gotten better.

Thanks in advance :)

Peak stupidity by Oppo India

They launched 12/512Gb variant in India and that too at this price is peak stupidity. Vivo offer 16/512 at a much lesser price than this.

Was really expecting so much from Oppo India but alas. Probably they are trying to lure or compensate for this fuck up by giving freebies. Not sure what sort of response they'll get here but I for sure am not buying the phone at this price point.

Find N6 Cases

Hi all,

For context, I am in the US and using a global version of the Find N6.

As the title suggests, I am having a hard time finding accessories for this thing that seem legit and will be better than the included case. So far what I have found is:

  1. an overpriced stylus that won't even work if I want to use the phone AND keep it protected

  2. finding a decent case? I've seen a ton of fake Nillkin cases (at least they look fake, nillkin.com vs. nillkin.org, etc.) on AliExpress but not sure what to think since they don't have them on their actual website. Ordered one anyway, will report back, hoping someone has anecdotal evidence of something better.

  3. Recommended charging platforms? I can't tell what Oppo actually officially offers or recommends aside from the wall adapter provided with the phone.

Thanks for your time!

From S21 Ultra to Find X9 Ultra - it's wonderful

Got my new X9 Ultra here in Bulgaria from one of our telecoms for 1125 € with the charger. Got very lucky with that deal and with the phone (after and exhausting nearly 3 week waiting).

My old Sammy phone is still great. Had it since June 2021, changed its battery in December 2024, and that might have gotten me 1-2 more years out of it, but software updates stopped, and now it will be passed to my son so he can play on it and shoot silly home videos.

So, compared to it, the X9 Ultra is better or on par everywhere I tested in these almost 3 days I've had it.

Battery is a beast. Yesterday at 16:00 it was on 100%. I went to a football game that went to overtime and penalties, there were celebrations 1 hour after the end, and I shot tons of photos and videos. Today, still shooting everything like a small child, at 11 AM it's at 40% and will easily last me until I get home after work.

Sound is better than the S21. Probably 10% louder and with a bit more bass. Nothing super special, but more than enough to listen to a podcast in the shower.

The display on the S21 is great, here - greater. It's smarter at adapting the brightness. The fingerprint scanner is impeccable and super fast. The game yesterday was a rainy one and at times I was absolutely soaked, yet I could write on the display with wet hands and it was ridiculously good.

The cameras are a delight. I went on a pixel-peeping binge in the last 2-3 months trying to find my next phone. Saw hundreds of hours of reviews and comparisons, had doubts. But at the end of the day I won't be watching most of my shots and videos on a display larger than my laptop's, and most of the time they won't be side by side with something marginally better.

They are superior in every way to my S21 Ultra. But most importantly, with decent light I can get a great picture and video at every distance, from 0.6x to 20-30x zoom, with no loss of quality. With the S21 Ultra there were many limitations to getting a great shot, even on a perfect sunny day, let alone with artificial light or at dusk, for example.

It's not much heavier or bigger. I have bigger hands than most and it's possible to use it one-handed (with a case) like the Samsung phone. Shooting ultrawide will include my finger in the shot for the foreseeable future though, because my finger naturally rests on the bottom of the camera bump, but I'll get used to it.

Software-wise, it takes some time to get used to something a bit different, but nothing scary so far. My banking app's KYC was asking me to take a photo of my ID card and it switched to the 10x camera, so I needed to shoot it while standing on a chair, which is stupid, but I loved it.

Will write more in the coming days, but wanted to share my perspective. Ask questions if you think I missed something.

Issue with Circle to Search on OPPO Find N6

Recently I’ve been having an issue, I think after updating to ColorOS 16.1. Basically, I can’t use Circle to Search on the internal display, while it works fine on the external one. I have gestures enabled and the navigation bar visible. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Oppo Find X9 Ultra delivered: initial questions/doubts

Hi folks

I got my Oppo Find X9 Ultra delivered today, I am in Germany. Global version from Oppo German Store.

However, I am already experiencing something unexpected and I have a few questions for you.

  1. Whenever someone shares a link with me from a social app (let's say from Instagram) on WhatsApp or Telegram, tapping on it the social app just opens wherever I left, instead that on the specific content/reel that the person wanted to share. Is this happening to anyone else?

  2. Where are the Smart Functions in the Smart Sidebar? I recall then from the Oppo Find X8 Pro I tried more than a year ago. They were great! But I can't find them here, they don't appear in any context and I don't see the toggle in the Smart Sidebar settings.

  3. I need to translate documents (pdfs) by time to time, from German to English, and I saw that the Documents app should have an AI Translate function or similar. It is there indeed, but only for documents in English...same goes for AI Summary and other things. So whenever I open a document in German, it doesn't summarize (just never ending wait) and the translation option is not there at all!

Coming from Samsung, I knew I wasn't going to find all the features of OneUI, but these ones are pretty basic and I saw them on YouTube.

Am I missing something? Should I enable some specific option?

Thanks!

XUNDD Find X9 Ultra with magsafe ring kickstand.

It's a pretty unique case, though it still remains to be seen if the kickstand magsafe ring will hold up over time.

Picked up a Oppo global version

Just wanted to share my experience with the OPPO Find X9 Ultra Global version here in the US so far.

I was a little nervous ordering a global model since I’m in California and mainly use T-Mobile, but honestly the phone has been working surprisingly well for me overall. Had a few setup quirks at first with incoming texts, but after getting everything dialed in it’s been solid.

Main reason I bought it was for product photography for my 3D printing business, and the camera has been seriously impressive. The detail on textures, paint, and skin tones on my full-color 3D prints looks really natural compared to a lot of phones I’ve used before. The macro and portrait shots especially surprised me.

I still use my Sony gear for bigger shoots, but for quick content, IG reels, behind-the-scenes, and product photos, this thing has been making life way easier.

Honestly feels like one of those phones camera nerds appreciate more than mainstream users lol.

Is anyone else here using the global version in the US?

Here are some sample photos.

Going to pull the trigger on X9 Pro

Hello guys. Since the last 1 month or so I have been searching for a new mobile phone. I have had seen a plethora of review videos on YouTube as well as scrolled lengths on Reddit. I have finally made up my mind to get the x9 Pro and I'm sharing the price breakdown here for you guys to let me know if this is bang for bucks or should I wait for another 14 hours or so for the ultra to launch, hoping there will be a price cut on the previous x9 devices 😅 (not going to happen IMO, what i fear is, they would discontinue the x9 pro since it is not available in offline stores as well as on flipkart).

Here's the breakdown.

Base price : Rs. 110000/-

Welcome offer coupon: Rs. 3500/-

Savings through points : Rs. 9500/-

Credit Card discount : Rs. 7500/-

______________________________________________

Total : Rs. 89,500/-

Then, exchange estimate for S23 : Rs. 21890/-

Old device cashback : Rs. 8,000/-

New Device cashback : Rs. 3,000/-

______________________________________________

Total : 89500-21890-8000-3000 = Rs. 56,610/-

Now, given how notorious CASHIFY is, I'm expecting they would not give me the full amount for my Exchange. I'm expecting atleast 17-19k, my phone is in a flawless condition. That would mean I would roughly be paying 60k for the x9 pro.

Seeking fellow X9 and X9 pro users advice whether to pull the trigger or not. Thank you guys in advance.
