Accommodation issues for non-EU students
Ciao everyone, I would appreciate help in any form, I am so desparate at this point. (Have to start Master's in Padova from October)
Firstly, only 10% of the landlords answer to my messages at all, I have no idea whether it has something to do with the language or what. I am from Armenia, still learning Italian, so I ask them more details about the apartments/rooms in English.
Secondly, they are mostly not aware of any documents that I will need, like declaration of hospitality for permesso di soggiorno.
Third, even if they are aware they say they cannot provide it, some just dont give that paper, and some give that paper but dont register the contract.
Fourth, no flexibility with contracts at all, like they cant adjust a 18 month contract in any way, neither shorten nor extend.
5, they basically want me to pay for the summer breaks as well even if im not going to be in Italy, without the option to sublet the room to someone else. This is frustrating.
How can I proceed in this situation? Any ideas or tips? Thanks in advance!
