I want to write a story containing flashback scenes of the female main character without the reader realising it’s a child version of the main character. I want the nickname to make sense once revealed, but be adequately obscure as to not arouse suspicion up until that point. My working names are currently “Aubrey” and “Berry,” but that’s way too obvious.

Fantasy genre aimed at young adult.
