Submitted income determination in Jan, no answer, now what?
As the title says, I submitted paperwork for an income determination in Jan of 2026. I supplied all info the SSA would need to make the income determination and I have yet to receive an answer. My paperwork says "completed" in my SSA account.
Situation, in Oct of 2025 I began receiving difficulty of care payments for my adult special needs daughter due to constant job losses with agency workers not showing up, or filling the PS hours a few days a week. I took over care because no other care was consistent.
I currently receive mother in care benefits due to the death of my husband from his record. (My disabled adult daughter also receives payment as well).
I filed my income statement, my difficulty of care paperwork the state had me fill out, the payment info showing the fiscal agent for my daughter that compensates me as well. Why have I not gotten an answer since Jan when all paperwork shows completed in the system?
SSA has not cut off my payments, but I will be above the threshold IF SSA determines this is counted towards employment. My daughter is the one paying me through a fiscal agent due to her care with a severe disability and needing total care.
What is my next move here? I've called the main number so many times and get so many random answers that it's now become frustrating. Why is it so difficult to get an income determination so that I can plan my finances and future?
