CRM100 through Chang with Christina Hollingshead?

Has anyone taken CCRM100 through Chang with Christina Hollingshead? How was the workload and grading, and what were the assessments like? Would you recommend it as an elective?
Thanks!

PSY 102 vs CMN 279 for Biomedical Sciences?

Hi! I’m a first-year Biomedical Sciences student trying to decide which course to take for Required Group 1.
I’m currently deciding between PSY 102 and CMN 279. If you’ve taken either of them, which one did you find more manageable for getting a good grade?
I’d also really appreciate any recommendations for professors, and whether you’d suggest taking the course in person or online through Chang.
If you remember the grading breakdown/workload for your section, that would be really helpful too. Thank you!

Best course combination for Biomedical Sciences?

Hi guys,

I’m in Biomedical Sciences and I definitely need to take BLG 143 and CHY 103. I’m not sure if I should leave both MTH 131 and PCS 120 for the spring/summer, or take either MTH 131 or PCS 120 with BLG 143 and CHY 103 in the fall.
My GPA is really important to me, so I want a course load that gives me a better chance of getting good grades. Which option do you think is better? Has anyone taken these courses together? I’m honestly a bit stressed about it.

Easy elective recommendations for Fall?

Hi guys,

I’m planning to take BLG 143, CHY 103, and MTH 131 in the fall. What easy elective would you recommend with these courses to help keep my GPA up? I’m thinking about Geography or ASL 102, but I’m open to other suggestions too. Does anyone have any recommendations?! :)

BLG 143 - CHY 103

Hi guys,

I’m planning to take BLG 143 and CHY 103 this fall. I’m a bit more concerned about BLG 143 since I’ve heard the exams can be pretty application- and scenario-based. I’m generally more comfortable with chemistry, although I don’t mind memorization.

Does anyone still have old lab manuals, pre-lab topics, lab schedules, or advice on how to prepare before the semester starts? I'm stressed more about the lab 🧪٫ and if anyone has old lab materials and is comfortable sharing them, feel free to DM me. I’d just like to get an idea of what the labs are like.🙏🏻

Overall, what’s the best way to prepare for BLG 143 and succeed in the course?

Also, for CHY 103, how is Mastering Chemistry? I’ve heard about it but don’t really know what it’s like or how much work it involves.

Veryyy appreciate that 🙏🏻:)

Buying CHY103 Chemistry Textbook

Hi everyone!
I’m looking for a copy of Chemistry: A Molecular Approach for TMU/CHY103.

Preferably:
- Canadian Edition (3rd is okay) or 4rd
- good condition
- reasonably priced (between 30 to 50)
- located in Toronto/GTA

Please answer me if you’re selling one. Thanks!

Urgency Helppppp

I’m currently in Biomedical Sciences at TMU and I’m thinking about applying for an internal transfer to Nursing later on.

My high school prerequisites/grades are all good, and right now my university CGPA is around 3.67. Since Nursing is competitive, I was thinking of taking a lighter first-year schedule to protect my GPA instead of immediately taking all the heavy science courses like chemistry/biology together.

For example, I might take courses like math, electives, SCI180, ASL, etc. instead of doing a full Biomed science load right away.

My question is:
When TMU reviews internal transfer applications to Nursing, do they mainly care about CGPA + prerequisites + good standing, or could it actually hurt me if I didn’t take courses like CHY103/BLG143 in my first term?

Basically I’m wondering if they would see it negatively that I stayed lighter academically at first even if my GPA stays high.

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who transferred internally to Nursing or knows how TMU evaluates this. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
