I got a careerboost offer earlier, but my gpa fell below 2.0. This is a really embarrassing situation. What do I do now? I really need the job to be able to afford tuition.
1st year just wondering if they provide it or not because if not then ill just go to the local shoppers and do the monthly one
Hey, I'm an exchange student coming to tmu for the fall semester.
Im looking to connect with some students before I arrive to make friends!
Wanting some advice on best ways to connect with other students?
In the Environment and Urban Sustainability program and they're looking for student representatives for this year. Was thinking about putting my name in as the 2nd year student rep.
Can anybody share experiences about being on their Department Council even for a different program? Looking to know more about how much time I should expect to dedicate to it, whether you felt it was a good experience, and if you felt like you were genuinely making a difference and able to contribute.
basically the title, i don’t regret it but i also had uottawa available. Any advice or words on opportunities and just overall on how good or bad the program is?
Okay im not the best at wording things so this may be a bit confusing but basically, I have two classes that im trying to swap the days for. ClassOne is on a Friday and im trying to switch it to be on a Thursday and ClassTwo is on a Thursday that im trying to switch to be on a Friday. So basically im just trying to swap the days for both classes. The reason for this is because by doing this I open time for another class I wanna add. From what google tells me there is no way to multiswap classes at the same time so I am just trying to wonder if like im totally doomed or if there is another way that I just don’t know about. I am new to all of this so if im wrong about the whole situation please let me know. Any help is good.
Hey guys. I was bored over summer and I’m a CS student so I decided to make something to cope with the horrible job search. I’m making an app to help students make and join course group chats and connect with their classmates. Basically you can search for a course and then join or make a course specific group chat in case you can’t find one online like on Discord, Instagram etc. You would have to verify your account with your TMU email so everyone on the app would be TMU students, this will reduce spam as you might see on discord for example. (I plan on making some portals for other universities as well).
For now since I’m still developing and to publish on the AppStore costs like $130 😓, I’ve decided to make a waitlist to see if this is something people would be interested in. You can join the waitlist for specific courses as well. Once the app is out you’ll get an email, you can use any email like ur personal one for the waitlist. Let me know if you would like a website version. I can probably get that out a lot earlier.
I also plan to give everyone who joins the waitlist something special, maybe something like profile cosmetics later on.
The app is called Corse and here's the link for the waitlist: https://corse-waitlist.netlify.app/
Plz comment if u have any questions I’ll answer them all. Hopefully this can make it easier to talk with your classmates :) Also the app will be free btw
I'm coming back to school after a 12 month co-op. I heard the school did a full transition to make people use digital onecards to access buildings and gyms.
Will my existing oneCard still work to access? I don't have a smartphone (in the modern sense of the word) so I can't download a digital NFC card even if I wanted to (which of course I don't)
what are some good places for studying or are generally on the quiet side? i’m gonna be doing google meets often so i need to be able to talk while it not being too loud. free unlimited wifi is a huge plus
related question… what floors on the slc are good for this as well?
Hi everyone! I’m going into my second year at TMU, and I’m a full-time undergraduate student. I’m really confused about my tuition balance and was wondering if anyone has experienced this.
I was originally enrolled in 5 regular undergraduate courses, including required QMS 702 (Calculus for Business). On August 12, I used the swap function to replace QMS 702 with CQMS 702 (Chang School) because of my schedule.
I am still taking 5 courses total and I am NOT adding a 6th course.
Before enrolling, I called Financial Aid/OSAP and specifically asked about the cost because I was only swapping a required course, not adding one. I was told that the Chang fees would be calculated with my undergraduate course fees as one outstanding balance, and that if OSAP covered my tuition/fees, I wouldn't need to make a separate payment. I have the call recorded.
My balance was:
Before swap: $5,527.73
After swap: $6,205.82
That's an increase of exactly $678.09, which is the full Chang course cost.
So I'm confused because it looks like the Chang fee was added without any adjustment to my regular undergraduate tuition.
Shouldn't the QMS 702 course I swapped out of be accounted for somehow since I'm still taking only 5 courses?
Does anyone know if: The tuition adjustment is still processing, or Full-time undergrads actually pay the Chang fee on top of their regular tuition when replacing a course?
I'm going to ServiceHub tomorrow to ask about it, but I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's done a similar swap. Thanks!
Has anyone taken CCRM100 through Chang with Christina Hollingshead? How was the workload and grading, and what were the assessments like? Would you recommend it as an elective?
Thanks!
My offer was conditional on a prerequisite course. I’ve completed the entire course and only have the final exam left. My exam is booked for Aug 25 but I’ve requested an earlier date. TMU revoked my offer because the exam date is too late. What do I do now? I have no back up. I don’t wanna take another gap year. I could really appreciate any advice on what to do. Please and thankyou!
If 2/5 courses of mine are chang school, do i still put a full course load on my osap application? Also, how are u supposed to pay for the chang school courses? The balance due on myserviccehub just shows the total balance for the fall semester.
i failed mth240 this summer semester (by 2.5%), i don’t know what to do, i was down during the midterms and got a bad grade but turned it around for the final and im missing only a little to pass. what should my next steps be. i don’t wanna have to wait till winter to retake it all again.
thanks
Hii, I’m an incoming first gear student at trsm, and I am shopping for cute bags. I want something functional and aesthetic, that can fit my laptop, water bottle, wallet, notebooks and other essentials. I also want it to be on the affordable side. I also want it to be a tote bag. I’ve seen some brands like Ooomay and poppy and peonies but the reviews aren’t the best. Is there any other brand that’s ethical and good quality that you guys would recommend? Let me know!
I swear there is always that one instructor out to get you. You can sit down and study the material for five hours a day... only to be awarded between 74–76% on EVERY evaluation. This is honestly so upsetting, especially when you read from many peers on the professor’s Rate My Prof that they only award B letter grades.
Side note: we need a rant flair.
i left mid semester, didn't take any exams and failed all my classes. I have absolutely no idea why i did that but i just got completely depressed and never left my house for months after. now its the new semster, and i dont know what to do. i was sent a probation contract months ago but i never replied, and i know its my fault. Is there any possible way i can stay in my program and retake my classes? i feel utterly hopeless
failed mt240 in second sem and summer sem (by 4%). its very much my fault for thinking i could balance a job and engineering courses. pair that with my bad study habits, i just set myself up for failure. is there anything i can do? i really want to take my sem 3 courses but im in computer eng and everything needs mth240 as a prereq except pcs.
any advice is appreciated
