is it normal for guys to exercise naked IN the sauna? obviously i know there’s gonna be naked guys in the sauna, but there is this one guy i’ve seen on multiple occasions who does sit-ups and pushups and literally every type of stretch known to man kind inside the sauna, and i can’t help but feel uncomfortable. aren’t u gonna pass out? he’s grunting and doing a full workout
it doesn’t feel like normal stretching - i stretch in the sauna as well. it’s different, like he’s purposely trying to get me to look at his dick and ass crack. i try to keep my eyes down but its a very small room and whenever i look up he’s staring directly at me while doing these exercises and stretches. i’ve also never walked in on him doing these moves, it seems like he’s sitting normally until i walk in and then he starts doing this.
Is this normal? i’ve never seen anybody workout INSIDE a sauna, i feel like it’s dangerous? he also seems to be in his late 30s not really like a student, i know students can be any age but it adds to the oddity of it all. short asian man with short hair.
i always keep to myself but it makes me not really want to use the sauna even tho i love a sauna. anyone else experience this? or am i overthinking/ overreacting?
Hey Everyone, I'm a 1st year student and have CMN279 Asynchronously online. Every week my teacher closes the weekly-material and makes it inaccessible. I have the mid-term coming up and feel like I don't have enough study material and that I'm falling behind in it. Does anyone have any advice for the mid-term or any place I can find some material to study for it?
Also, if anyone had it asynchronously before, did you also have 2 response papers that you have to write worth 15% of your grade each? I'm required to write a response paper based on a week's lecture, but the teacher did not provide any format or anything to write it, I did email her, but I'd love to hear some advice from someone who wrote one before, thank you!
guys my lab partner sucks. For context we had a physics lab like almost 2 weeks ago, and we split up the questions. I did 7 questions that mostly had the equation problems, and i left 4 questions for her that are just the writing sentences component.
Before handing in the assignment, i had seen that she wrote down 2 sentences for a 6 mark question but didn’t say much because we had no time. Anyways she ended up being the reason why we lost marks. I admit i made some mistakes that were just units and labeling, and that costed us 2.5 marks. Without her mistakes we couldve gotten above a 90%.
What should I do? I feel kind of terrible if I swap partners, and her physics tutorial partner already did that to her.
I applied like the first week of school and got approved but I’ve been holding out on it becuz the line for the office is always long asf. Is there a specific time limit in when you get accepted to after in which I need to pick it up? Like do they only keep them for a specific amount of time?
Once construction wraps up on the Wellness centre and the new res building, I believe it would make sense to pedestrianize the stretch from Gould to Dundas. The road already leads to a dead end north, and far more people travel through it than cars. It only makes sense. What do you all think of it? I'm considering working on a project/proposal to the school if I can get enough traction behind this.

I wanted to make a meme to slip in novel tips related to the course in the title, whilst saying good luck and well wishes to people taking the first exam.
For Gupta tests it is important to spend most of your time understanding (so the usual reading of any slides and external sources, making notes and annotation, and taking time to parse information that you do in any class can help you a lot here. You still need to know/memorize the material, don't get me wrong, but you also need to "know your understandings". Here are some good resources, for this test or future ones, in addition to he slides:
- textbooks like Molecular Biology of the Cell (its most recent version is available pretty easily with a Google search)
- YouTube videos
- Googling online resources
- random free courseware (ex: MIT/Harvard free courses with videos)
- clankers
You do not need to use any or all of these resources, I'm just listing out ways you can focus on understanding the why of things. Use whatever you want. In this subject it is imperative to focus on understanding the why of pathways. I would say you should spend 2/3 of your time understanding things and 1/3 of your time memorizing things. Just remember, spamming things on a cheat sheet does not compensate for time that needs to be spent understanding (although the crib sheet can still nonetheless be a useful tool if you study right).
Anyway here are some useful rhetorical questions to direct your thinking when studying. How does mutating, or how does messing up, a pathway affect the function (or any other possible characteristics) of things upstream or downstream in the pathway, or things at the point of where you messed up the pathway? What does that imply about the wild-type function of the pathway? What are some signs of that and what kinds of information in a possible test question could lead you to making x conclusion? How can common experimental techniques gleam information into all these pathways, and how would you know or how would those techniques suggest that? What kinds of applications can you gleam from the lecture material? Can you think of any ways material you learn can lead you to trying to predict some characteristic about a pathway or the proteins involved? There's many different units in this subject so I'm trying to make these sorts of question tips broad-sweeping enough so that they're useful as thinking questions for any test.
I know that his courses are super tough, but I hope everyone in this class ends up loving this subject in the end or comes to find smthn to like abt how cool it all is.
When is the coe328 midterm and what does it cover up to?
I am a peer note-taker for one of my courses, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to upload the notes "within 24-48 hours" after the lecture. Does anyone know if I will I still be able to receive the award if I upload them a few days later?
