Little Angels’ School, Hattiban – One of the WORST EXPERIENCE
(We hope someone convey this message to School and Mr Umesh Shrestha )
It was a difficult decision for us to write this, and we have deliberately shared it only after the admission season is over. Our intention is not to discourage or influence anyone’s decision, but simply to present the experience we went through as parents.
We enrolled our daughter in Class One at Little Angels’ School, Hattiban after she completed her Montessori education. Like many parents, we believed that enrolling her in a reputed institution would ensure holistic development, strong academic support, and exposure to extracurricular activities.
Unfortunately, our experience was the complete opposite.
Instead of growth, we observed a decline in our child’s confidence and enthusiasm. A child who once enjoyed learning began resisting school every morning. She started believing she was a “weak student.” When a child begins to feel inadequate at such an early age, it affects not just academics, but overall personality and confidence.
Within just 20 days of joining, we received a call from the school where a teacher said, “Your daughter cannot even copy from the board; it has become difficult for us to teach her.”
This was deeply concerning. If teaching a child who is still adapting is considered “difficult,” then what is the role of a teacher? A child transitioning from a Montessori environment to a traditional classroom naturally needs time, patience, and guidance—not labeling.
We also observed a pattern of favoritism—where attention seemed to be directed primarily toward already high-performing students, while others were overlooked. Additionally, teachers often discussed a child’s shortcomings in front of the child and parents, which can be damaging to a child’s self-esteem.
Another concern was accessibility. Meeting the coordinator or principal felt unnecessarily difficult. As parents, open communication is essential, especially during early schooling years.
There were also basic care issues. Many days, our child returned home in a condition that raised serious questions—untidy uniform, torn stockings, unkempt hair, and generally neglected appearance. For a school of this scale, we expected proper supervision and support staff to ensure basic student care.
The most distressing incident was when our child returned home with completely soaked stockings because she had urinated on herself at school. No one informed us. No one changed her. Her feet were damp, wrinkled, and uncomfortable after staying that way for hours. This is not just negligence—it reflects a serious lack of basic care for young children.
Due to repeated concerns and fear that frequent complaints might negatively impact our child further, we often chose to remain silent and compromise. However, there comes a point when silence is no longer an option.
Eventually, we made the decision to withdraw our child from the school. This came at a significant financial loss, as we had already paid the full year’s fees in advance. But more importantly, the emotional and developmental impact on our child was far more concerning than any monetary loss.
While sharing this, we sincerely hope the school reflects and improves. A large number of students or a strong brand name alone does not define the quality of education. True quality lies in how each child is treated, nurtured, and supported—especially those who need a little more patience and care.
We hope no other child has to go through a similar experience.
Little Angels’ School, Hattiban –
