Rape Capital Punishment and my opinion and your disagreement

First thanks for taking part in uncomfortable conversation and still being civil if you are here and being civil

second lets clear something in the back of my head I want capital punishment, but something is not 100% in their hence I am asking question

First lets look at rape itself, sex between 2 consented minors is considered rape should capital punishment be imposed even there (hence I hate blanket statement specially when the discussion is this serious)

next rape where victim is not killed ; assumption k huncha bhaney capital punishment is the harshest of the punishment and should only be reserved for the most heinous of crime and I will argue that this does not fit the criteria don't get me wrong I categorize rape as crime against humanity but morality ra philosophy bata aali tada gayara practicality ko barey ni sochnu parcha punishment should not only to be to punish, it should be to protect others from falling to the same victim in future If someone is raping and the punishment for that is the same as murder then why would a criminal leave its victim alive at the very least if the punishment was not harsh enough then the life of victim can be saved (argument in USA's SC don't remember the case though) ........ also in the same category where victim is alive not all the rape is done by strangers there are multiple cases where the criminal is a relative aba if the punishment is death tya aauta family pressure not to tell create huncha denying any kind of justice whereas if the punishment was not so harsh then something could have been done Furthermore capital punishment in this case where victim lives can be linked to patriarchy and many would consider a setback on womens right as well, but that argument makes sense and doesn't at the same time for me so I am not going there

rape where victim is killed like todays case of 3 year old from my stance 100% should be given capital punishment but reality ma tesko ni lafda cha but since we are discussing if capital punishment should be allowed or not logistic and difficulty of it is irrelevant in this discussion

Now coming back to Capital Punishment itself I don't having it has ever reduced rape case anywhere at the very least not that I am aware of ....... Instead, from my perspective and the actual people that work in the field, having strict punishment bhanda ni effective chai having strong capability to catch the criminal chai is a stronger deterrent to stop such crime (there is a big likelihood that you will not commit a crime if you are more likely to be caught then if there were only stricter punishment) look at India they have capital punishment.......proven absolutely useless

Do you remember election time ma Sobita Gautam ko aauta vid was going viral where she said rape is not that serious of a crime and victim can recover and join the society and the outrage surrounding that ....... that is the real issue until society learns to accept victim they will not come out and since they will not come out the criminal will have a short of like insurance to commit the crime

3-4 din bata yo topic is poping up but I can't really reach an conclusion hence sharing thought hope you all keep the conversation civil

No wonder people end up putting their parents in nursing homes when they get old.

This is how i feel rn btw

Cause Wdym I tell you your words and actions hurt me, and instead of reflecting, you hit me with “ta psycho ho” or “ta pagal bhaisakis”? And simply ignore

Like bro, just admit you were wrong and take some accountability.

You’re the ones who caused half of my mental state, and now that I’m finally calling out how your words and actions hurt me, suddenly I’m mental hospital material.💔

You can’t keep treating someone badly and then act shocked when they stop tolerating it

Baru sisa karyam karyam chapaunu tara aama bau lai aafu le k feel garirako chhu bhanera nabhannu

Girls, have you ever tried wearing boxers? Because if you haven’t, you should 😭

I wore one for the first time today, ngl it is the best thing ever happened to me. It’s so comfy and breathable and you can literally wear it as shorts at home. Now I know why men wear boxers

No one can call me gold digger

One time, I was super mad at my ex. He bought me a whole bag of chocolates to make it up to me, but I refused to forgive him. It was already late at night, and we were at the bus station. He wouldn’t let me go home until I took the chocolates, so I ended up taking the whole bag home. Once I got home, I calculated the price of each chocolate and sent him the exact amount through esewa. 😭

My gf is demanding for financial support

My girlfriend of around 3 months is asking me for money. I don't know if she's actually going through financial problems or anything but she's randomly asking for 80k to 1 lakh. Personally I find it a bit icky when my partner asks me for money. It's not like I can't afford to give it to her . I just don't like doing it.

1 hapta jati vayo , she's asking for gifts , trips and blah blah . It's not like I haven't gifted her anything. I've already given her bags, perfumes, shoes which were worth a decent amount. Some of the things were items that had been gifted to me but that I didn't use , so I gave them to her. Even if I add everything up, it's a good amount . And she's hasn't gifted me that much which I don't care as I know she can't afford it

I don't know if I should give her the money. I genuinely don't like doing it. I find it more like paying someone to be in relationships.

This is the first time one of my partners has asked me for money. None of my exes ever asked me for it, probably because they came from financially well off families. My current girlfriend don't have the same financial background

She's demanding money, gifts, trips, etc as if that's my only responsibility in the relationship , it's kinda frustrating tbh . I don't mind spending on my partner when I genuinely want to but I don't like feeling expected to constantly provide things . It looks like she wants me to chase her or smthg

“Ultra capitalist pig” thinks sellers should be able to charge whatever rate they want as 3rd world Nepalis don’t understand economics and expect free healthcare or education from government

Such a ret@rd-ish take. I’m pretty sure she the one who actually has a rich dad or a husband who provides her free things.

Does she not know there are countries which provide free healthcare or education? Is expecting such a bad thing? And should “3rd world Nepalis” be able to pay goods above their MRPs?

I'm building a free, open dictionary of Nepal's ancient stone sculptures; 92 entries so far, with ~1,500 more to go

I've spent a long time being quietly obsessed with the stone sculptures of the Kathmandu valley, the ones standing in the open at a crossroads, half-buried beside a temple, worn smooth by people touching them for fifteen hundred years. Most of them have no label. Many have no published description at all. If you want to know what the goddess buried to her waist behind the Ganesa temple at Chabahil actually is, there is no page to look at.

So I started building one. Shilakosh (शिलाकोश, "stone treasury") is a catalogue of Nepalese stone sculpture. A dictionary, essentially, but for sculptures.

shilakosh.neocities.org

Where it stands right now: 92 entries, 45 3D models, 12 places, spanning the 1st century CE to the 18th.

I have no idea on coding, and this was all built on a boring saturday using claude code. So, what I have here is a solution I think very less people will be interested on.

How an entry gets made:

The sources. The backbone is Lain S. Bangdel's The Early Sculptures of Nepal (1982) and his Inventory of Stone Sculptures of the Kathmandu Valley (1995). I also used individually published articles.

Publishing. The site is deliberately primitive: a single index.html that never changes and a content file, entries.js, that holds everything. Maps are Leaflet over OpenStreetMap tiles, with numbered locality pins keyed to a list, in the style of the maps in Bangdel's own books. Free hosting, no ads, no tracking, no account required.

The mesh side, and where the compromises are

The models are photogrammetry-derived, then remeshed and decimated hard. Raw captures come out in the 1–3 million triangle range; the published models sit at roughly 5k–10k triangles, exported as GLB with Draco compression, landing around 300–400 KB each.

That is a brutal triangle budget for weathered stone, and I know exactly what it costs. At 10k tris, quadric edge-collapse decimation keeps the silhouette and the broad forms and throws away precisely what makes these objects interesting: chisel marks, erosion pitting, the difference between a worn surface and a re-cut one. The models are also untextured, shape only, no colour, which I actually prefer for honesty's sake, but it means all surface information is carried by geometry that mostly isn't there any more.

Free hosting gives me 1 GB. That's fine for text and fine for 5k-triangle 3D blobs. It is not fine for a real archive. The host offers me only 20GB of bandwidth per month, which is okay if there's little traffic.

And there are around 1,500 sculptures still uncatalogued. Roughly 100 are of the 1st to 5th centuries, the period the catalogue focuses on. The rest run through to the 19th.

At my current rate the text is achievable. The 3D isn't, not at a quality worth keeping.

What would actually help

  • Photographs. If you've been to any of these places, photographs from all four sides are worth more to this project than money. The site says which views are missing for every sculpture. Please send photos of any sculptures that you visit at shilakosh360@gmail.com, I'll be glad to give respective courtesy to whomever helps with the project.
  • Corrections. If a date, a place name or an attribution is wrong, tell me which line.
  • Anyone who does photogrammetry or heritage 3D professionally, I'd like to be told what I'm doing wrong. I mostly used free version of meshy for the quick 3D models and I am unable to make 3D for chaturmurti and multi direction faced sculptures.
  • Support, if you can. There's a small contribution link on the site. It mostly goes to storage and bandwidth.

Happy to answer anything, about the sculptures, the sources and the process of making it. I must reiterate the fact that this entire thing was made in a single day. There are mistakes bound to appear. It is my personal ode to our beloved polymath L S Bangdel. Thank you and happy reading everyone!
