KUSOM BBA hype vs KU BBIS reality — alumni, what’s the actual ground truth?

I’m considering joining Kathmandu University and I’m confused between BBIS and BBA.

From what I found:
- BBA seems more corporate/networking/business-focused at KUSOM.
- BBIS seems more tech + business oriented and mainly based at Dhulikhel.

But I want the REAL picture from alumni or seniors who’ve actually studied there.

Questions:

  1. Does BBIS still provide strong networking and real-world business exposure like BBA?
  2. Are BBIS students equally exposed to internships, startups, business competitions, presentations, and industry connections?
  3. How different is the environment/social circle between BBIS at Dhulikhel and BBA at KUSOM?
  4. Which degree is believed to give you better practical skills for jobs and career growth?
  5. Which one is more valuable in Nepal and abroad in today’s market?
  6. If someone has strong communication, leadership, and entrepreneurial interests, which one fits better?

If any alumni or seniors are here, please share your honest experience — even small insights can genuinely help.

BBIS vs BBA no one talks about

Hey everyone 👋

I’m deciding between BBA and BBIS at KUSOM (KU School of Management) and I want real, practical advice from seniors/alumni — especially about jobs and career outcomes.

I’m not just asking about syllabus, but about actual results after graduation.

Main questions:

• Which degree has better chance of getting an immediate job after graduation?
• Between BBA and BBIS, which is more in demand in Nepal job market right now?
• Do BBIS graduates actually get tech/business hybrid roles faster?
• Is BBA still more recognized for general corporate jobs (banking, marketing, HR)?
• Which one has better starting salary and internship opportunities?
• If someone has no strong coding background, is BBIS still worth it?
• Honestly speaking, which one has better “return on investment” in real life?

I’d really appreciate honest experiences, not just theoretical answers 🙏

KUSOM (KU School of Management) honest review needed from seniors/alumni – is it really worth it?

Hey everyone, I’m considering joining KUSOM (Kathmandu University School of Management) for BBIS and wanted honest opinions from people who actually study/studied there.

I’d really appreciate raw and practical insights instead of just promotional stuff.

Some important questions:

• How is the overall environment and student culture at KUSOM?
• Is the teaching quality genuinely good or mostly self-study?
• How strong is the networking and exposure compared to other colleges in Nepal?
• Are internships, events, and placements actually useful?
• How competitive are the students there?
• Does the “brand value” of KUSOM really help later for jobs or abroad?
• How stressful is the academic pressure and attendance?
• What are the biggest pros and cons nobody tells before joining?
• If you had another chance, would you still choose KUSOM? Why or why not?
• Also, how are the social life, clubs, presentations, and practical learning?

Would genuinely appreciate honest reviews from seniors/alumni/current students. Thanks!
