I’m in the bar at a Waldorf Astoria in the US - don’t usually get involved in bar conversations but the barman was explaining to someone that they need to sign up for Hilton Gold because they were paying their bill with the Plat and hadn’t realized that gold comes with the card and gives F&B credits. Turns out that about 9 people here all have the Plat card, and 7 of them knew almost nothing about Platinum benefits (inc FHR). 2 of us ended up giving everyone a crash course in benefits maximization…
Guarantee they’ll all still have Platinum when the annual fee exceeds $1k.
Also guarantee these people are representative of >75% of cardholders.
(BTW - none of these people are military)
(BTW 2 - FHR rate was 10% less than the rate for Hilton Honors members without breakfast, and I was upgraded from a Junior Suite to a full 1 bed suite).
