A little back story. We lived really close to a high school growing up. A group of kids would hang out in the alley at the end of our back yard before and after school, smoking. They were always leaving stuff behind, books, bags of weed, trash, whatever. The last time they ever came they left a huge binder full of CDs. My grandpa left it out for a while and they never came back so he gave the binder to my brother and me. This binder largely influenced our taste in music. There was one specific CD that was a burned CD. It had a bunch of random but popular songs on it but there was one song in particular that I loved and I haven’t been able to find it since, and unfortunately the CD is long gone. I’ve googled the lyrics and never been able to find it. I can’t help but wonder if it was an original song or something. It was a rock song and this is how I remember the lyrics.

“Pain just go away, cause I don’t need you no more, just to remind me that I’m still alive and free. Rain quit pouring down, cause I need the sun to shine down into my eyes. And now I’m waiting for that breath of life to help me understand the world. I’m waiting for that light to shine into this darkness I live in.”
