[TOMT] Looking for an indie/folk song by possibly an Australian female artist

Looking for an Indie/Folk song by an indie Australian female artist (2010s–2018)

Genre/Vocal Style: Indie Folk, Country Rock, Americana. She has a very mellow, soft singing voice.

Release Era: Sometime between 2010 and 2018. Likely a lesser-known or mid-tier artist featured on Triple J or Triple J Unearthed.

Artist Appearance: Caucasian female, tall (approx. 5'6" to 6ft), with short-to-shoulder-length brown hair, and possibly wears clear glasses.

Music Video Imagery: She is possibly holding/playing an acoustic guitar and walking through a river or shallow natural water source. The song is a melancholic track about a lost love or breakup.

Key Lyrics: Contains a line very close to: "And I was so sure that you would stay" (or "so sure that you'd stay").

Help me find a video of a specific guitar solo

idk if this is appropriate for this subreddit but theres a video of some guy doing a guitar solo in a concert in the 80s or 90s, it was a distinctly rock song, he held the guitar lapstyle, and he was using a glass slider. i cant find the song or the clip of that solo. song kinda sounded like some prince. either the song or the specific clip helps, thanks..

song that got popular on TikTok but predated it’s existence

So there’s a song I can’t quite remember the name of, but after hearing the sound of a firework I couldn’t help but dig through my Spotify to find it.. The sound of the firework is almost EXACT to what was used in the song, but it wasn’t the sound of the firework, it was an instrument of sorts.

I recorded the sound of the firework and put it overtop of a similar sounding drum loop so hopefully that is enough to uncover the song that I am having trouble remembering.

Lost Mid to Late 2000s Alt Rock Song Used In Flash Animation

Hello!

For the past two decades, I've been absolutely haunted by this song that I remember hearing once when I was younger.

I heard the song in a flash animation hosted by Weeble's Stuff. I'd have to imagine this was in the late 2000s. Possibly like 2007 - 2008, though I can't be exactly certain of the date.

I don't really remember the video, but for some reason, the song has stuck with me many years later.

It had an alt-rock vibe, almost Radiohead-esque, though I'm like 99% sure it's not actually Radiohead.

The lyrics went something like, "I think I'm losing my grip... I think I am... and I'm free falling, and I'm losing my grip, I'm freeeeeeee, oh woah"

This is probably pretty obvious, but the song is very much not Free Fallin by Tom Petty.

I've been searching for this song on Google for 2 decades now and have turned up absolutely nothing.

Does anyone have any clues or leads?

[TOMT] Oh oh oh ohhh

I’ve been looking for a song and I can’t find it for the life of me. I think it’s been used in a lot of hype/high energy short edit videos.

I sang it and also hummed the instrumental here. I don’t know if I’ve got the lyrics right but it goes something like this: click here

Looking for a song from a 2000’s singing tube of lipgloss

I was talking to my boyfriend about a tube of lipgloss that sang a song that I had when I was a kid that I couldn’t remember the name of, and he said that I should ask this subreddit so here I am!

It had to be around 2008-2010, it was on a tube of lipgloss that would play a song when you opened it and the only lyric I remember was “Everyone’s robbing a Mercedes Benz”. I’m assuming it was a song from the early 2000’s because I had another one that sang Kelly Clarkson’s because of you and the other ones in the store sang other top 100’s. The lipgloss was also glittery & orange/peach from what I remember if that would help any. Thanks in advance!

What is the name of this song? [Likely Pop][Before 2018]

OP said they recorded it before 2018 and it seemed to be playing on a random radio station.

I believe the lyrics could be:

I had a lot of favorites/pay for it/faith

A hell lot of/

Is it time the true?

Easy time that's true

My heart....

Op never provided any further information.

[HMFTS] The Most Mysterious Hey Ya Cover on the Internet?

Recreation

I do not have an actual recording of the song so I apologize of this doesn’t fit the sub.

Back in possibly 2014-2017 when I was a young kid I remember seeing this strange music video somewhere. I don’t know if it was from a tv show or movie or a film but I remember it consisted of these two guys who were dressed like secret service agents or the men in black singing “why oh why oh why oh” which makes me think this is some cover or parody of Hey Ya by OutKast. I put a link of the recreation to what I remember above. if you have any clue of what this could be please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Trying to identify a movie/TV scene where a chubby boy auditions for a school choir and stuns the teacher

I'm looking for a movie or TV show scene that I saw multiple times in YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.

Here's everything I remember:

  • It's set in an American elementary or middle school.
  • A female music teacher is holding auditions for the school choir or singing group.
  • She's sitting at a table with a clipboard while students audition one by one.
  • There is no audience—just a small stage or auditorium with other children waiting for their turn.
  • The teacher seems tired or bored after hearing many students.
  • A slightly chubby white boy, around 10–12 years old, wearing regular clothes, walks onto the stage.
  • He sings a cappella (no piano or backing music).
  • His voice starts very soft and beautiful, then builds into a powerful, hopeful climax.
  • He holds a long note that sounds something like "Weeeeeeeee... are heeeeeeeere..." (I'm almost certain those aren't the actual lyrics, just what they sound like to me).
  • The teacher becomes emotional and looks like she's about to cry because she realizes how talented he is.
  • I think he may have been one of the last students to audition.
  • I've mostly seen this clip used in YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, usually with inspirational or cinematic edits.

I've already checked Boychoir and The Chorus, and it doesn't seem to be either of those.

Does anyone recognize this scene, the movie/TV show, or the song being sung? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I only have this recording, don't know any details

I was calmly browsing YouTube until i stumbled across this incomprehensible video which depicts very weird a very weird blue wojak meme flying to this song I don't know, amd because I really like how it sounds, is there anyone here who knows it's name? By the way I think it's from an old disco from the 2000's, used for this video which I suspect it being a flash animation given the quality and the way the wings of the wojak are drawn.

Sorry it's another "dadadada" post

Tried googling but the dadada's are not matching up.

There's a very simple melody I'm thinking of possibly with no words or or maybe even just says the dadada's, it goes like this:

Da, __

Da da,

Dadadadadadadadada,

Da, __

Da da,

Dadadadadadadadada,

And just repeats like that with that rough timing. I've been singing it to my baby and it's been bugging the hell out of me trying to figure out where it even came from.

Not sure how difficult these ones are to identify. Thanks in advance if anyone has any suggestions 🤞🏻🧡

Hiphop/Spoken Word song, please help!!

Okay so I'm gonna try and say everything I remember. I was at a record store in my city and they've always got music playing in the speakers, and as I was looking I started playing attention to it. I think the genre was rap, but it felt more spoken word? Like there was no flow or anything, it just sounded like a kinda monotone make voice over a best which wasn't that hip-hoppy, if you get what I mean. I only heard two of the songs. The first one had a kind of more hip-hop style beat, not trap or anything but a pretty basic rap beat with nothing special. In it there's a male pretty monotone voice which talks about how when he grew up in London, he used to take a special walk. One day he decides to take a shortcut, but he starts to hate the shortcut as much as the normal path because it was way more tiring and made him exhausted I think. He also spoke about how he hated himself for it and something else. I kind of stopped paying attention after that because I thought about the music not being that good. I started paying attention towards the end again though, when it sounded more inspiring and he said something about being able to love and grow as a person or something along those lines. The second song I barely payed attention to but it was the same artist and it was more like "but I now managed to move past that point in my life, and I was able to love the world, And myself." The instrumental in that one was also a bit more electronic I think. Please help me find this, I've been thinking about it all day!!!!!!!
