With “Hand Me Downs” officially platinum, Baro Sura deserves his flowers
With Hand Me Downs just going platinum the other day, i feel like people still don’t talk enough about Baro Sura.
for anyone who doesn’t know, he’s the uncredited feature on the song. The vocals on the chorus is him. Always felt like he brought such a unique feeling to that record.
He dropped an album last year titled “Today & Always” and i genuinely think it’s one of the most slept on projects i’ve heard in a minute. Feels human in the same way Mac’s music did. Romantic and existential without trying too hard.

Miller McCormick (Mac’s brother) also did the album and vinyl packaging artwork and has been supporting him for a while now which makes the whole thing feel even more connected.
He’s stayed super lowkey but scratches a similar emotional space for me. Which honestly makes me wonder how much bigger he’d be if Mac was still here to champion him.
Feel like waaay more people should be listening to him. Def worth checking the rest of the album as its such a good start to finish listen
