[Hobby] Looking for an artist for a small open-world survival/crafting game project

Hey everyone,

I’m a programmer currently looking for an artist who might be interested in collaborating on a small game project focused on learning, improving skills, and building something meaningful together.

The idea is a cozy-ish open world survival / crafting / farming game with a strong focus on social interaction between NPCs. Not aiming for hyper realism or MMO scale — more about atmosphere, player interaction, simple systems, and creating a world that feels alive.

I want to be very transparent from the start:
this is NOT a “let’s make the next Stardew Valley in 2 months” type of project.

The goal is mainly:

  • building experience
  • creating a solid portfolio project
  • learning teamwork and pipeline
  • slowly building something we can genuinely be proud of

I’m treating this as laying foundations under our feet rather than chasing overnight success (If that comes that is an added bonus, but ).

About me:

  • Programmer with experience in game/system programming
  • Comfortable with gameplay systems and backend logic
  • Currently working on prototypes and core systems

What I’m looking for:

  • 2D or 2.5D (more like ilustrations), potentionaly stylized 3D artist
  • Someone who enjoys cozy/social game vibes
  • Preferably someone interested in long-term collaboration and experimentation
  • Communication matters more than “AAA-level” skills

Thanks for reading this and if you are interested, just hit me up herewith a DM.
