So I lost my job about six months ago due to layoffs. I averaged a good fifth-liter a day, even years before losing my job, with some beer day breaks in between because I was so sick. Maybe taken a full month COMBINED off of drinking, in the last 6 years. At my previous job, I could at least sneak 2-3 shooters during my shift. Before that, I worked from home, and averaged out my liter throughout the day, or at least until I logged off.
Since being unemployed, of course my drinking increased like a MFer. Vodka from the time I woke up, til the time I passed out. Hours didn’t matter, I just drank til I blacked out. A half gallon hasn’t lasted me two full days, in MONTHS. Fast forward I had a pretty bad seizure about a month ago at home. Being CA I am, went back to the bottle the next day.
I guess the fear of the seizure/WDs are my biggest question….
So, I have a job interview coming up on Wednesday, and pretty much have it guaranteed. Regardless of health, an don’t need the lectures, don’t really plan on quitting. But, would like to actually keep this job. ONLY THING that worries me is DTs/another seizure, while being on the job.
How do you fellow CAs make it through it the day, where it’s pretty much impossible to sneak it? (I’m sure i’ll find a way within’ a month of being there, but, don’t wanna risk it off rip). I can’t control myself to dwindle down, so that’s not an option. Benzos, small small small sips of shooters throughout the day, edibles, rip a decent amount of shots before the shower, etc?
Just curious as to how you guys an gals get through the day, as it’s been YEARS for me. Look forward to hearing your guys’ tips an tricks!
