Why does everyone play casting skills like Exsanguinate, WoCoT, EoW, Ice Shot as mines instead of casting?
Edit: thank you everyone for the great explanations! All makes sense now, and also makes me a bit sad. Wonder if this will ever be "fixed" or if this is the way they intend spells to be played (which I doubt).
Id say im like a mid knowledge POE player.... And Ive always wondered this. Like wouildnt you be able to scale these spells better as self cast?
I think Exsanguinate in particular is pretty cool and so I was looking for builds but its like exclusively mines.... Why not self cast it?
Same goes for basically all the cool cold spells... they are all mines or totems instead of self cast?
Honestly there is like no self cast in this game at all realy outside of like 3 or 4 spells....
Why is that?
Why does self casting spells just not exist? (outside of like literally just KB, KBOC pretty much)

Is it possible to make a really good Exsang self cast build or must it be mines?
Like are you severely limiting youself by self casting it?
